Nathan,
That’s a nice mod. I’ve been looking at improving the throw of light we have now but you pan looks like it could kill two birds with one stone.

It forms a box with open ends which bolts to the sides of the step frame and fits tight against the bottom. I did not use any insulators and will see if I need any once I test drive it. It does not take any additional space. Any shop should be able to handle it.

I had posted this along with the measurements that I used on my Classic Cornerstone. It is a great mod! I got tired of the consistent issues with water and grime. It was the best solution for me. I have no regrets.

Nice mod.
Should have been standard at the factory.
Love your diagram.

Drilling stainless is a bitch. What drill bits did you use?
I heard that the cadmium coated last better when drilling stainless.

I bought a pack of Dewalt bits (Colbalt) at Lowes, they worked fine. On the one end of the pan I used stainless nut and bolts with lock nut and washer. On the other side I used those me things they use on a car that slide over a metal edge and have a whole and a thread. It was much easier. You can make your own choice on the fastener. It is a simple installation. As one of the other posters said, it is something that should be considered for these coaches moving forward.

Just an idea - don't have access to a metal shop bending, so once we get our Cornerstone Was think I could make a box and use it as a mold for fiberglass mat and lay in some metal reinforcement on the edges "have all the tools to do it that way" - now just have to wait for the DW to give the OK.

What kind of CAD program did you use to draw the plan?

I'm not a motor home owner, but your post sure grabbed my attention. You did nice job there, and I've never considered all the dirt and slop that would spin off the front tire onto the entry step for you guys. Your's looks very well done.

It quite obvious, no matter what type of camper or RV one owns, there are very unique obsticals to over come for all of us.

Again, nice job you did there. And in the future, I may take your idea and as I make friends with fellow RVers with Motor Homes, I'll share your idea!
