Factory service ?

Can someone help me to understand what the 2 year factory inspection, PDI, and 44 pt. services are? Are they covered under the warranty or customer paid services? Also how to have these done. We purchased a used '14 Anthem in March '16 with the belief that any issues with the unit could be handled under the 2 year warranty which ended July 11th. Have talked with the service dept at the factory and have all issues documented. But not completely satisfied with all they are telling me. Thx, GrAndy

44 pt is a Spartan inspection service. If it turns up anything covered under warranty that would be covered, but most of the items are routine maintenance and are customer pay. The PDI and 2-year warranty are just that, warranty at no cost to customer.

The Factory PDi as Marc said is the end of the 2 year warranty inspection......however getting an appointment took me 9 month in advance unless I was willing to go in January. The Spartan 44 point inspection, I believe is $200. plus any maintenance items not covered under warranty. Lube job, improved shocks, etc.

I also have a 14 model.. the 2 year warranty ends in September 2016.. I am scheduled in for the end of the 2 year "p d i " that you are referring to.. and yes I had to schedule it it 8 months ago just to get the appointment in august before the 2 year ends. unfortunately from your posted dates your window has closed for that. in reading though on some items entegra is still willing to help there owners out even after 2 years .. window blind motors specifically I think I read ... hopefully your previous owner took care of all the original blips-- updated aqua hot pumps. the updated 3 bladed ac fans on your roof acs.. ck your aqua hot hoses behind your kitchen counter as they like to kink randomly pending on slide in or out. those were the 3 big ones on my 14.. spartan has longer warranty on there build items
and can be looked up via your vin # through them. the 44 point inspection I think is just a common inspection list of recommended items. (not really anything done for free) best of luck

Can the Spartan inspection be handled at one of their dealers such as Cummins South in Ocalla, Fl.? Noticed you had posted they did some software upgrades for you a few weeks ago? I also have the steering noise(only when turning to right at slow speed) and the unit is almost as hard to hold between the lines when driving as my previous 34 foot gasser.

With your list, there will be a lot of reading to do on this forum

Cummins update at Ocala, but not the Spartan update. That was done at Entegra's Spartan shop. Spartan told me Ocala could do the Spartan update, but they said they could not. Cummins South in Ocala is a nice shop. Their business is 80% MH's so I am sure they could do your Spartan Chassis check. The also have nice grass, elect water hookup RV parking.

Steering noise is a Spartan Update, call Spartan for service center, they will have to ship the parts. Have your VIN# ready.

Steering is proper alignment and Koni shocks, part number 90-2890 for an Anthem. Other will have other ideas, but I have been fighting it for 2 years and that is what worked on my MH. I watch a video that a wife took of her husband fighting the wheel on a 2014. They had also been to 4 alignment shops, but didn't know about the Koni's. I hope the Koni's will help them like it did me. The going price for Koni's from Spartan is $180. each. Watch shops that try to get $300.

The 44 pt. inspection is worthwhile every year. This past April (with my third 44pt. Inspection) the tech found a brake can was rubbing ever so slightly on the chassis when the air was dumped. Axle shimmed to alleviate the rubbing, warranty covered, no charge. An added benefit of the 44 pt. inspection is that they check ride height as part of the inspection.

Are you taking your coach to Spartan in Michigan each year, or a local Spartan shop?

So far I have been taking to Spartan in Michigan each Spring (on the way home from winter in warmer climate) for the Maintenance items I do not want to do (differential fluid, oil and lube, fuel filters).

Still a bit unclear on the 2 year factory PDI. Is this inspection part of the 2 year warranty? Our Anthem warranty was up in July '16. guess it may be too late.

Call Entegra, tell them you are the second owner and date purchased. See if you can still get the 2 year Entegra Post Delivery Inspection. They are getting harder to get after the warranty has expired, but maybe in the middle of winter? The 44 point inspection is at Spartan in MI, about an hour and 1/2 away.

Thanks, Chuck. Will give them a call when get the unit back from NIRVC in Atlanta. Factory set up the appointment for me to take it there for service. They were reluctant to say they would check for any other issues than what I had on my list. Would like to know someone has checked it out thoroughly, as we are the second owner and have no history on the coach. Have heard nothing but good things on the service at NIRVC. Hope they don't let me down. , GrAndy

Once your PDI list is submitted and the warranty is up, that's about the end of it. If Entegra has sent you to NIRV for warranty service, I don't think they will continue to extend that.
