Factory Tour

Had the factory tour today, really enjoyed it. Thought I'd share this panoramic picture taken with my iPhone from the mezzanine.

Darn, one of those aren't mine yet. Nice pic, we sure enjoyed the tour. That looks larger than whne I was there last fall, did Entegra expand? I heard they were going to increase production.

Yep, I think by something like 700K square feet.

Hi Chuck...The expansion in the picture is to the right hand side. I believe the expansion was 700K to almost 1 mil sq ft. I stood on that balcony and then afterwards they showed us the not quite completed expansion area. It's massive. I'm hoping with the expansion they can cut down on delivery time to the folks that order them. We loved the tour and would go back again. Everyone was great.

Thanks Ray, We will look forward to taking the "new" tour and seeing the new facility. The one we toured was a little cramped, but in Terry's photo, it looks nice. Big difference in the before and after. I forgot I had this photo.

It's worth the drive up to see the new stuff. We're going to take another tour next year to see all the new "goodies" they've opened up. I know during our tour everyone was great, even the employees working the floor took time to explain what they were doing. The misses and I were an awe of all the niceties that they did. When you watched them, they all took time to make sure stuff was right. I know when you get the coach there is a punch list of things to do but I wouldn't blame the employees because everyone the misses and I talked to really enjoyed there jobs and working for Jayco/Entegra. Seems like an excellent outfit. That pretty much sold us on the company and coach we wanted to buy.

A family friend and his wife purchased an Anthem about two months ago and WOW! The quality and features, including the quiet ride, are amazing! In the photo, might anyone know what the orange material is under each tire? Wondering if it is something more than just a simple wheel stop to keep it from rolling OR if it is something to protect each tire while parked on the concrete... Have heard some folks park their coaches on plywood to prevent concrete sucking moisture out of each tire....???? Know that sounds far-fetched, but seeing those orange pads aroused my curiosity... Thank you, Jeff

The orange pads are filled with air pressure and when activated it lifts the coach a fraction of an inch and 2 or 3 workers actually push the coach sideways to the next stall. After doing this a number of times the unit is at the other end of the assembly line and it is driven out the door headed to Precision Paint for its gorgeous paint jobs.

We've done the tour twice. The first time was before the expansion and the second time was after. The new facility is very impressive. It didn't feel cramped like the old one felt. The workers seem more relaxed in the new facility also. I don't mean that in a negative way, but just the opposite. The work force didn't seem to stressed even though the production numbers have gone up considerably.
