Fiberglass roof flaking?
In 2019 we bought an Entegra Vision.
Later on that year, or perhaps the following spring I was washing the roof and noticed on the fiberglass roof right at the left/rear corner of the MH and just as the roof starts to turn down- what looked like flakes of the white roof coming off exposing what I’m assuming, the light green fiberglass.
I don’t recall striking anything up there- and thought it was just a scratch or something that was there when we bought it- and I didn’t catch it at delivery.
So I just put some blobs of lap seal on them. (You can see the lap seal in the photos).
Over the last couple of years I’ve noticed more green spots around the patched ones from 2019/20- those are blobs of different shades in the pictures.
But today when washing the roof it’s spreading. And it looks like there’s a hairline crack developing. Or, is the crack just another piece getting ready to pop off?
This corner is the only area of the roof that has this going on.
Any ideas what’s going on- and what to do about it.
What is it that’s flaking off? The sealer or coating covering the fiberglass?
Their not rub marks from any cover, and there’s nothing around the MH that would be rubbing or hitting it.
I use Dawn Dish soap and a soft brush on the roof.
Could it be a frame stress area that’s popping off the paint/sealer that’s over the fiberglass, and now causing a stress crack?
I can’t really tell if I have an actual ‘crack’ forming or is it just another flake of the roof ready to pop off.
I have not detected or seen any leaks in the roof.
I believe there’s quite a Warranty on this roof that should still be active (I’m looking for the paperwork). But if I could, I’d rather avoid my dealer, as there’s a history of getting our RV’s and MH back in worse condition than when we dropped them off there.
Ideas?
Remedies?
Thanks

Check your warranty. Larger Entegras have a 5 year structural warranty. The roof should fall under the structural warranty. A major problem like that should be taken care of at the factory. Most dealer do not have the expertise to replace a roof.

Here is the warranty for your model taken from Entegra's web site.
"Entegra Coach supports our customers with a 3-year limited structural warranty for areas like the roof, walls and floors. This warranty comes directly from us."

Only a few dealers in the country have a full paint and body shop. Most sublet out your repairs. NIRVC is a full paint and body dealer. You can have them submit under warranty and see if jayco will authorize the repair. If not, at the Dallas location they can apply a sealer to the entire roof. It’s goes over all your lap sealant and everything. That would seal the entire roof without replacing.

It looks like it got to close to some extreme heat. Or is it just sun baked?
What year is it? I have some old fiberglass panels out behind my shop that have been out in the weather for maybe 15 plus years that look just like that.
Sand, prime and good paint will bring it back looking like new.
If you want it to last use a good 2 part paint such as Imron. No clearcoat.

It’s a 2 year warranty- being it’s a Entegra Vision, which falls under Jayco. The 3 or 5 year warranties are for Entegra Coaches.
Has anybody sanded and repainted these?
I’m assuming I should sand beyond what I “see” to try to get ahead of it.
What grit of paper would anyone that’s done it- suggest I use?

I guess there are two Visions?? Your photo shows a C, but the Entegra Vision is this coach. Last page is the warranty stated for 3 years. https://www.entegracoach.com/motorhomes/vision/
I you have to paint, lots of good video on YouTube on how to paint fiberglass. As Unplanned Tourist suggested, do to the constant exposure, Imron paint. Expensive, but cheap will have the same results as being experiencing now.

I believe what you have is a coating that was applied to the roof is peeling off. This is usually due to poor surface prep when the coating is applied. Without knowing what the coating actually is, it will be difficult to troubleshoot. It will probably continue to peel and the only solution is to remove it and reapply another coating. Not an easy job. If you bought this new it needs to go back to the dealer. If it was used, you might have the dealer find out from the previous owner what was applied. Chuck
