Filter change in Middlebury In...

I will need my 1 fuel filter changed out, working the tank thru some algae build-up, while in Middlebury getting a few items repaired at Entegra, checked the "sticky' for some recommendations didn't really find anything, Called Cummins in Elkhart, they are NOT taking any retail appointments, have a call into my Service writer to see if Entegra would do the filter change or if she knows of any reputable facilities nearby that would do it. Just wondering if anyone here had any Shop's they've worked with in the past.

Thanx in advance!

Easy peasy. Unscrew and fill new one with diesel fuel and screw it back on.

If you don't have any clean fuel to put in the filter, you can install it dry and fill it with the lift pump. There is a process to use the lift pump to fill the filters.

John, I take you are treating the tank for the algae. I would be prepared to change filters multiple times before the fuel clears up. Look at the filers after you remove them and see if there is black slimy stuff in the filters.
Algae can be difficult to get rid of. Just a hint, keep the tank full when parked for an extended period of time to eliminate condensation in the tank. Algae needs the presents of water to grow.

I Google diesel shops and Middlebury, there were several listed.

Thanx for the replies, I know everything looks “easy”, until I put it back together… then I notice there is an extra bolt, nut or screw laying around and then I end up calling that charges double because I tried first!!! I’ll find somebody to do a few filter changes as we travel, I thought I was keeping the tank full but going forward I’ll use the Bio-Kleen on a regular basis to avoid the issue.

John I don’t think you’ll find any nuts or bolts to lose when changing filters,
But anyway at least carry extra filters with you. You may run into place that don’t have the filters you need.
