Finally Picked It Up

Today was the long sought after day......we picked up our new Aspire. I wish I could say it was easy but it wasn't. About 3 hours of going over every button, signing the papers, delivering the money and scratching my head. Yep I got about 39% of it.

For the next 4 hours I discovered just how much crap we carry with us. Too much! It was a stormy day so thankfully the dealer put both units in a building but it still wasn't easy. About half way through it....I nearly knocked myself out with hitting my head on the slide. Glad I got that behind me.

As we left the dealership the wind was blowing and the rain was falling like a cow pissing on a flat rock. Traffic was thick through construction but we made it to our first stop. We're Still trying to find the right place for the essentials and my wife is biting her lip......the Redwood had a much better kitchen design and storage. Now a few TALL glasses of wine later....and we're glad the day is about over.

Good news. That first day is hectic. It took us a while to relearn where everything was in the coach from our previous MH. Enjoy it!

Reinventing your life patterns in one day......yes....this deserves some down time and liquid refreshment.....

BUT......

You'll probably move everything two more times before you find their new 'permanent' homes.

Best advice.....

Buy a case of your most favorite wine (case discount is big for the accomplished bargain shopper).....

And just enjoy the ride.

This could be the last time you go through this.

Welcome to your Entegra home....

Enjoy!

Congratulation on getting the new coach. Owning an RBQ, I can sure sympathize. The Salvation Army enjoyed the RBQ. After loosing the pots and pans drawer, and the hutch where the main TV now sits in the RBQ. We thinned out the things we didn't use and made a charity happy. The ride made it all worth while. Why I was carrying an electric drink mixer when we are wine drinkers....I don't have a clue

Relax, enjoy the ride. Your DW will eventually figure out a good place for everything important. Now is a good time to rethink the things you bring with you - when was the last time we used "this" - is it really something we need? Actually, we should probably all do that every year! Congratulations!

We know exactly what you are going through. We emptied a house and moved into our MH. Still switching things around. If you retained 39% of the info the first day you did good. And don't think that will be the last time you strike your head on a slide. Congratulations on your new sweet ride. Hope it brings you years of enjoyment.

The hard part is over, the waiting for the new coach. Time is now on you side to get things organized, modified, and all the good stuff we all get to enjoy with our MH's. Congrats on the new Coach.

Dave

My PDI took 8 hours and I was not done with the tech after the first day. The dealer gets paid a bunch of money by Entegra to do the PDI and my tech told me I had him all day, plus whatever else I needed, so I took him at his word. I still had a couple of questions that did not really get answered when the PDI was over and I had to ask them on the road. You may be a person that is a long time motorcoach owner..... I had only had a Monaco Dynasty for two years when we bought our new Anthem, but there were enough differences that a long PDI was mandatory. Feel free to call your dealer back and get all your questions asked.

And congratulations.... even under the best of circumstances, the first week in a different motorhome is all a learning experience, in my experience.

We started our PDI about 10:30 on Friday, ran until our heads were full, which was about 4:30, and started again at 9 on Saturday for another 4+ hours. Lots of systems on these coaches. and we don't even have it home yet! When we go back to get it in a coupe of weeks, I expect to do some more crawling around while we check the punch list.
