I hear and agree with what you are saying about Entegra having to pay, but it is those of us that use our MH to travel during the "travel season" that are now having to pay. If the Red motors are the solution, then send us a set of replacements! AH replaced their faulty pump motors, why not Untied Shades replacing their shade motors ? We know for a fact they are junk. They have already lost the Entegra account and it may be those of us with green and yellow motors that loose in the end.

Don't disagree, but we travel too...that's why I bought four inexpensive clamps that will hold up the shades in the driver compartment while on the road.

That's the whole point, we shouldn't be traveling with clamps holding up shades on MH's this expensive. You did a great job for all of us trying to get the shade problem solved and it does need to be solved on a class basis. It took awhile for AH to finally step up to the plate on their pump motors. If enough people keep the shade motor problem on social media maybe something will get done and not wait until we have to complete trips with clamps holding our shades up. I am sure Entegra is not the only company that Untied wants to sell shades to.

Buffalo RV is sending a tech tomorrow as our two front shades are partway down and will not retract. I thought of using clamps also but why the hell should we have to deal with this after the money we have spent? The vanity night shade is also inoperable. Luckily we had this documented before our warranty was up on August 13, and our wonderful Joyce will take care of us!

We had our first shade motor replacement too towards the end of the second year. It was the drivers day shade. Hopefully, one and done.

They are a pita, but you can roll the shades up by hand. Tight quarters and you have to overcome the motor resistance, but it can be done. Noel

More motors gone here. Called Entegra CS and can't tell immediately if they are available or still back ordered. Will hopefully get a call. Since we are on the road and making lots of stops, need to get a firm commitment out of parts to know where to have them send the motors. Getting them two weeks after we leave a location is not much help.
Frankly, I have been having more trouble than I thought I would have getting parts from Entegra parts department. Always say they are out of stock and need 3 to 5 weeks to get them in stock. Seems to me no excuse for ordering supplies from OEMs on a "onesey - twosey" basis. I understand not having 50 of everything just in case, but not having two or 5 of everything is not the place to be either....reduces cost but makes prompt owner service largely non-existant.

I give up for now. My toll window night shade died..... goes down but won't go up. Have tried resetting 12 volts and controlling from the iPAD and nothing seems to work. So, had a yellow motor and thought I would give it try myself. Earlier poster suggested making slings and that was the trick. Made the slings and managed to get three screws (out of 6) out, but I can't even get my fingers or the square screwdriver extension up into the two remaining screws: the coach side rear screw and the coach side front screw. I have tried everything I can think of, but I just can't see how to get to those screw heads. So, called CS and they will try to get a tech here, but I called a couple and they are booked-up through mid-September (must be a very lucrative business repairing RV as most guys seem to have more work than they can handle). CS asked me to try to "make-due" by somehow blocking the blind up so I could at least drive until their supply of red motors comes in (currently anticipated September 19th) so we don't replace a bad motor with another yellow motor that will go bad in the future, and just wait for the red motors to come in.
So, I gave it a lot of thought and here is my short term solution The first picture will show how you tie the "back-end" of the shade. Remove one of the screws anchoring the vertical wood valence and slip one end of a rope over it and replace the screw. Then I tied the other end of the rope to the driver map light (second picture). The third picture shows the strategically placed spring loaded clothes pin that is holding the front of the rolled shade up.
Here is where I need help. I am visiting family and friends on this 3 month long trip and all of them want to see my brand new, very expensive coach. I need help in developing a plausible story to tell everyone to explain why one of my window shades on my very expensive brand new coach has a blind help up by a red and white rope and a clothes pin !! All entries will be considered and the winner gets my yellow spare shade motor mailed via USPS.

So you're parked, so the night shade is down. They'll never ask if you don't raise the question. if they do...you're cutting the insolation from the sun to keep it cooler in the coach during the day, and don't want someone to see you in your undies at night. easy, peasy!
OTOH, a sad state that you should have to deal with the question.

Gary,
you need to ask Entegra the same question. Why do we have to put up with this?

Gary,
Tell them you are just keeping that one shade down so as not to overheat and breakdown the Entegra supplied polymer polish paste wax that you just put on the steering wheel.
