First time going to Quartzsite I have questions
So we are thinking of heading to Quartzsite in January for the first time. What do you guys do about RV parking? Do you reserve sites ahead of time? Is there an issue finding a place to park? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jack & Lynda

Sites are plentiful N, S, E and a few W of Q. Some get reservations, most boondock. If you want hookups get reservations early.

Although there are some 50+ RV parks in Quartzite, IMHO the real Quartzite experience is to be found in the dispersed camping BLM sites (ie. wide open spaces). No hookups, no services, no reservations, no defined campsites but an altogether unique experience. There are local companies that provide mobile water and waste tank service. As far as power goes, you're on your own but, in January, no A/C is necessary. From the photos I've seen, the RV parks are pretty crowded.
I suspect, but don't know, that reservations are necessary in the RV parks. Here's a site with some info:

Are you going to an RV Park or are you planning on boondocking?
We always go to an RV park at Quartzsite and yes we always get reservations.

...all good advice and counsel on "experiencing" Q-site....clearly, [IMHO] Q-site is all about camping in the desert with friends and enjoying all the activities in the area--we've done 14 January's in Q-site! I know people do it all the time, but I have never been that impressed with the quality of the campgrounds in Q-site--then again, power, water and maybe sewer is very attractive, if dry camping isn't your thing....

First time going to Quartzsite I have questions
No there are no generator “prohibited hours “ rules. My neighbor 100’ away ran a small gen all night. DW had medical equipment I guess But I could hardly hear it. Use common sense if your in a “circle the wagons” group parked 20’ from ea other , most will shut off for the night. But it’s a big place. You can isolate yourself some if you need to run it all night, although I can’t think of why. Great experience, especially with a owners group etc.

If there is an Entegra gathering in January, try to go then - the gathering is on the BLM land and is dry camping. Gary will probably chime in here may have a little more insight as to the "gathering", (not sure with the COVID Situation) and it is a good time to meet other owners. There were 65 coaches the year I was able to go.

The only rules for boondockers pertains to releasing water and picking up fire wood. Trash can be an issue. There is a dump. Been boondocking there since 2000 and I'll be there this year.

There are Boondocking spots all around Q. You will see thousands of RVs scattered everywhere. Find a spot and settle in. It’s not hard. There are several apps you can use to locate areas. We stayed at the La Posa North area just south of town and the Dome Rock Mountain area just west of town. Dome Rock offered excellent cell service. Lots of room for everybody.
