Basically just pretend you are back to yourself as a youngster and think of what you wish your parents would have done in preparation for their demise and then try to do that for your kids so it won't be as tough on them after you catch the bug.
Lol
Wut?

I've already had it. Mild flu. Kids are fine. What do you want me to do next?

I suppose I could seal myself in one of those vacuum-seal food bags . . .

I think that it is the free association phase of this thread.

If you camp 'dispersed', establish at least one reliable method to find your rig on the way back from town... in the dark.

This is from the voice of experience.

First time going to Quartzsite I have questions

You’d be surprised how many people can get lost at night .. things don’t look the same ! Or look the same ! depending on your point of view the area is pretty vast ... when we did the Q show for a few years, we used a flagpole light on the coach to find our rig amongst all the scrub brush and other rigs

So what is the big deal with quartzite? Seems like it is cold and crowded...what is the draw?
Interested in personal experiences- what brings you back or why you’ll never go back.

Dry air is my reason....and, it's mostly warm to hot the 5 1/2 months I'm there....only drawback, because I stay in a campground, are the motor home folks that think the posted speed limit in the park is for everyone else......gets real dusty.....

Quartzite in January is a “happening.” Like a College football game, or MLB playoff game. I think the fun is looking at 1000s of other RVs and their set ups including their side x sides or toads.

I'd only go during the RV show time and if I was also hanging out at the Entegra Gathering, which I've only done once (and want to do again, but not this year unless we have a good vaccine). I enjoy hanging out with a bunch of nice, like minded people. Other than that, it's a pretty boring place. I still have a very long list of places I want to explore and sitting still for an extended period in a small dusty desert town isn't on the list. I'm not trying to disparage others who like the place, it just not for me outside of the RV show period.

Even though we live outside Las Vegas, NV, Quartzsite is warmer in January. There is a swap meet with lots of old stuff and much of it has been sitting there for way too long, but also, lots of vendors selling new everything you could use on your Rv, plus crafts, hats, visors, flags, linens for your house/rv, furniture, accessories, items for your pets, etc. GREAT food vendors too! The real attraction is the big tent each year that is filled with many vendors for your RV' s and otherwise. I believe the dates for the tent in 2021 are 1/14-24, if it happens, because of the virus. They do have new motorhomes, 5th wheels and campers if you are interested. I always enjoy walking thru and seeing how beautiful the new rigs are these days. It is an experience and if you have a "rv", go one year and see how you like it. We stay in a local Rv park, but many, many people just dry camp in the desert. There are restaurants but not a lot and usually very crowded. 2021 will be our 3rd year and the friends we go with have gone every year for 29 years!!! Definitely take a tow car and enjoy!
