Fisher paykel dishwasher

Surprise. Dishwasher has started to smell after runnung a cycle.
Called customer suport on a Sunday morning, talked to a real person. Was advised to place a bowl with one cup of vinagar on the rack and run a cycle.
No more smell and all is good with a really good product.

Also remove the bottom rack and pull the filter housing out of the drain area, you would be surprised as to how much gunk is in there.

Iím going to use the vinegar thing once in awhile, too.

It will also help to use the heavy cycle most of the time. DW was originally using the fast cycle and accumulated all kinds of gunk in the spin bar as well as elsewhere. I spent several hours cleaning up the mess. Using the heavy cycle most of the time has kept any further mess from accumulating.

We use some vinegar occasionally and never have a problem.

And if you put that cup of white vinegar in a microwave safe bowl and zap it for 5 min. it will degrease, deodorize and disinfect your microwave. A quick wipe over afterwards and itís good. Even the really nasty splatters clean easily.
