Anybody have a FL Sunpass or other comparable device/transponder? Where have you mounted it? Top left windshield?

I mount mine center, high behind the rear view mirror but not in the "black dotted" detail on the WS. When I use it in the RV just high center.

Up behind the rear view mirror. Both MH and toad.

In the car, it's on the black out stuff. Works fine.

Edit: The Sun-Pass and EZPass web sites says to mount it up near the mirror. They also say it may not work on the black out section, but it does on my toad.

EZPass on one side, SunPass on the other.

Edit: Both are portable, pass's.

if you are asking where in the RV, I have it mounted low on the windshield, out of sight below the dash line.

Ditto. I just laid it down at the bottom of the dashboard, against the windshield. I can't see it, and it works perfectly. I do the same with my EZPASS.

I have the hard transponder that works on LeeWay or SunPass that I sit on the dash in front of the steering wheel and move it between the MH and the toad. It sits on a piece of black drawer liner so it doesn't slide.

If it is the stick on windshield type you can mount it anywhere there is no window tinting or shading around the rear view mirror.

Just paid $20. in fines last week as the DW sat the transponder in the center of the dash under the mirror with the black dotting in her new MKX. It won't work there....just from my experience.

Not FL PASS but EZ-Pass (actually IPASS) and it is mounted at the bottom center of the windshield beside the mobile eye..... I tried close to the top of the windshield and it was missed at the first two toll areas that I used it and instead of doing the electronic handshake, I got paper bills in the mail. There have been reports on here that you should not mount it in the sunshade area of the windshield as that hinders its ability to communicate with the sensors.... Low middle beside the mobile eye has worked just fine.

According to a Sunpass representative (because I asked them), if you have a Sunpass transponder on the RV and are pulling a toad. The Sunpass sensor-billing device is smart enough to recognize number of road wheels and bill you accordingly. I always remove my transponder from my toad and place it in the provided aluminumized pouch and put in glove compartment to prevent double billing. I can't tell you if unhitching the toad would save $1-$2 per toll, but it ain't worth it to me.

Yes, It counts the number of axles.

I have one SunPass. We use it in the MH, while pulling the toad. Or in the toad when driving it.

When we each travel apart, Toll by Plate seems to know our account.

We move our toad to the Keys, with a rental car, while storring the MH near Ft Myers.

I take the Sun Pass in the rental and the DW just runs the tolls.

Haven't gotten any violations or extra bills.

There are 2 types of transponders, the hard box type..movable, place it anywhere $30. Or a sticker bar code, stick in the windshield of one vehicle only, it is stuck to the windshield and cannot be moved. $10.

If you want to use it in different vehicles pay the $30. The toll camera counts the number of axles going through the booth. To use it in the toad put it on the dash....done

If you have the stick in the windshield, that is the only vehicle that can be used. If you want one for the toad and the MH, you will have to buy two $10. transponders and have 2 accounts.
