I haven't towed that truck specifically, but I have towed a '17 F-150 Lariat. We used an AF1 for braking. It worked exactly as it was supposed to with no surprises... mostly.
The "mostly" is that there is some circumstance that will cause the transfer case to automatically switch back to 2H and the transmission to P. My guess is that it's intended to be a failsafe: if the battery voltage drops too low, the truck goes into 2H/P so it can't roll away (either by accident or maliciously, as part of a theft). Perhaps the AF1 slowly drains the battery when the electrical umbilical is connected, or perhaps it's the way my installer wired everything up. I don't know. All I know is that one time we left the truck connected overnight, and when we went to leave in the morning, it had switched out of neutral tow mode. Fortunately we discovered it quickly, when I saw in my side mirrors that the truck's alarm was going off. And even more fortunately, the campground's exit road was loose gravel, so rather than breaking anything the truck just skidded a few hundred feed. But that was the last time we ever left the truck fully connected overnight.
