Flat Towing 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk

I will be towing a 2017 Grand Cherokee behind a 2017 Aspire. Trying to get ahead by getting the GC set up to tow. Does anyone who is towing a GC know if an adapter is needed to raise or lower the tow bar so it is level (not more than +/- 3" up or down)?

That will depend on the model and make of the brackets attached to the Jeep and even the towbar itself.
Is the Jeep lifted?
Oversize wheels and tires?

The hitch height on an Entegra is 21 inches. You will need to check which baseplate you choose how high it sit above the ground when mounted if you need a step down. The web site of the baseplate will give you the mounted height.

I choose the Blue Ox on my new toad as it was 21 inches same as the hitch. Check Blue OX, Roadmaster and Demco and see which one you like the best.

We have been instructed to bring ours to "Ride Height" out of "Entry/Exit" Height after hooking up and pushing the neutral button. No problems on Entegra Cornerstone

I will be installing the Blue Ox Base Plate, Airforce One brake system and use the Blue OX Avail tow bar. So based on the responses I should be OK on the height. I just need to be sure the GC is at normal ride height. Thanks.

Here is what I found on Blue Ox web site. Tab height for a 2017 Grand Cherokee is 17.5 inches. The hitch height on the Entegra is 21 inches. That leaves a 3.5 inch difference. Looks like you will need a 4 inch drop receiver.
Double check what you are buying.

Your welcome. Each toad is going to sit at a different height at the base plate as will each coach manufactures hitch. My Tacoma was 17 inch ground height, my Colorado was 21 inches with a Blue Ox baseplase which made it level. I chose the Blue Ox as it fit the Entegra hitch height. I was glad to eliminate the drop down receiver. What fits on a Newmar, may be totally different on an Entegra.

I tend to go with what fits the best for my needs.
A Demco gets even closer to the 21 inches.

We tow a GC Summit behind our "vintage" Aspire. We use an all terrain Roadmaster tow bar with Blue Ox hookups. We needed a 4" drop with the GC at normal ride height. Chuck's numbers sound spot on.

I ran the wire into the same hole as a bunch of wires above brake peddle , just under the carpet. Uses a small bendable rod which shows up below the brake fluid reservior under the hood with a little luck.
