Freeze tonight in Texas, Louisiana, and the South

Just a quick note to make all owners that the National weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning this evening in Northern Louisiana, and areas as far south as Southern Texas and Louisiana (Baton Rouge) are bracing for a little snow tonight. Warm up those coaches if you are not winterized.

It’s been snowing for a couple of hours in San Antonio. Never ever had snow here this early in December. Temp is at or near freezing.

Time to head to Quartzite!

Kind of funny here in the Corpus Christi area. Weatherman calling for “heavy snow accumulations with a low of 34 tonight!” Not kidding, locals warned to dress in layers and bring pets inside. One school closed, most starting two hours late! You would thing it was going to be a blizzard with white out conditions. And temp 70 by Sunday. Go figure.[emoji2]

Gene

You must be a "Yankee" that has moved south recently..... when the temp gets close to freezing in southern Louisiana , people act like it is blizzard conditions up in Chicago. Several government building and organizations in the state capital (Baton Rouge) have already blown off work tomorrow and have announced they will be closed all day Friday. The threat of snow paralyzes Shreveport if there is actual accumulation of snow.

No snow in Dallas, staying at The Vineyards. Low of 38 tonight. Who says we should go to south Texas for the winter? Luck of the draw DFW will turn cold some time in the near future

About 4 inches in College Station. Looks Beautiful. Ground warm so roads not icy. Kind of a nice present. Came here from Bozeman MT in 1972. Can’t say I miss the 20 below stuff,

It was 80 here today; same tomorrow. Of course, it's a bit on the smoky side. Fortunately the fires are about 6 miles north, so no issues other than that.

Freeze tonight in Texas, Louisiana, and the South

33 and snowing in Aransas Pass at 1:00am! Not supposed to get any colder so no sticking but big, wet flakes. First time since 2004 for any snow and not supposed to get to freezing this time here.

The Snowbirds won't like it, but us locals can't wait. That freezing weather is suppose to reach us this afternoon with temps dropping into the 60's the next couple of days and with that the darn humility will finally be decent. Probably a few fireplaces and Aqua Hots will get some use the next couple of evenings.

If you are wintering it FL, good time to check that everything is working before it is needed at 1 AM and it's not working.

I was working at a plant in Shreveport years ago, looked out my office window to see a mad rush of employees leaving. Made think we must have a fire. Nope, the local radio had announced light snow flurries on the outer loop. The sad part was several houses burned and two people died as they were using things to try to heat their houses that week.
