Fresh water tank drain

2017 Aspire 44B - Is there a fresh water tank drain in addition to the hot/cold drains? Need to drain the fresh water tank as part of the sanitizing process.

Look for handle to open drain under the tank. Might be easier to see by opening door in front of passenger side drive wheel.

Tom, Jerry is correct, the tank drain sits by it's self just in front of the rear tire on the P/S with the valve under the coach instead of inside of the bay.

It takes my coach an hour plus to drain the tank. The drain valve is not large given the tank size. The overflow for the fresh water tank drains in the same general area.

That drain is just too dam slow. I remove the manual fill cap on the tank and siphon with a hose. I usually also fill it that way.

Just curious because two Entegra owners have the same complaint. What size is the drain pipe on these coaches?

The post by FreshAir indicates he uses a hose to siphon out the tank, and typically that is only a 5/8"-3/4" diameter. I can't imagine a large fresh water tank with a drain pipe that size or smaller, but one never knows.

Fresh water tank drain

I believe it’s a 3/8 and yes it takes a long time to drain. If I’m going to drain it I open the valve the night before.

Is the water filter before the tank fill or when water comes out of the tank? In other words, when you fill manually are you bypassing the filter?

Drain pipe on '14 Entegras is less than 1/2 inch. It's a pitcock on the wrong side of the coach. There is no manual fill. Another design flaw. You can use an additional drain in the wet bay designed for winterizing but draining a full water tank is an afternoon operation. I remember the tank drains on our previous Winny's were about 2 inch all you had to do is pull a valve and a full tank would drained in about ten minutes.

Yep, this^^ is what I am familiar with and why I asked the question. Can you or any Entegra owner account for such a small drain pipe?

Another way to speed up the drain is to turn on the pump, open a faucet and open the drain valve. I have a short section of slinky that I water the grass with the while the faucet helps drain the tank.

My Qwest appears to have two drains on the fresh tank. There are four total low point drains in the wet bay, three blue and one red. I drained the fresh tank this morning and water poured out of two of the three blue drains.

I had no idea but it drained pretty quickly.

I use the water pump as well - run the shower, and half bath sink to fill both gray and black tanks - I do have a dump station where I store, so this is the fastest way to empty a full tank of water.

My sisters Winnebago drains in about 10 minutes too - drain set up good to do this.

I stated that, poor design. Remember that many of those that design these rigs have never lived the life style.
