Fresh water tank mystery
Fresh water tank went from 46 percent to 100 over night. Valve is in vertical position and I can't hear any leaking when I put my ear to it. I've now on my second valve. Do I need another? Who has retrofitted something that works all the time? It seems that the plastic valve Entegra uses starts to leak after a time.

Most likely this is your water pump check valve leaking. It can either be a defective check valve or the incoming water pressure is too high and forcing water through the valve.
A quick remedy (it usually works) is to totally depressurize your water system - water pump off, water off, faucet(s) opened. Then repressurize with city water only and leave the water pump off when connected to city water.
If you don't already have a pressure regulator for you incoming city water, invest in a good one like those at the rvwaterfilterstore.com.

Agree 100%. I replaced my intake valve with Shark Bite and still had problem. Replaced water pump because it was fluttering and now the problem is strictly related to high pedestal pressure, below 50 psi no back flow. I got an adjustable pressure regulator which I can keep at 50.

There can be another cause...level of the coach.
I was on an sloping site, and put in my slides for detailing, so I aired up, stowed my jacks, and brought in my slides. When done, I noticed that we weren't full of fresh water, so I switched to fill mode and couldn't get above 54%....even though it was running out the overflow. Then after turning off the fill, the overflow continued to run.......
I disconnected the water supply, turned on the water pump, opened the fresh water dump valve for a few seconds. Then closed that valve and ran my outside shower until my water lines were purged of air, turned off the shower, and waited til the water pressure in the system was re-pressurized.
Put out my slides, reconnected the fresh water line, and re-leveled the coach. Suddenly, I was back at 100% fresh water...the tilt on the coach made the difference on the % of fill, and breaking the vacuum and re pressurizing the fresh water system with the water pump ensured proper operation of the check valve in the water pump.

Simple check: With the pump off and city water on, back off the intake side of the pump (the one closest to the patio side). If you get flow back through the pump the check valve is not holding. It may be just a dribble. When I did it, a towel was all I needed to keep the compartment dry. I just replaced my pump for the same problem. If you're still in warranty, CS will probably send you a pump. If no back flow, its the valve.
