Having me place my hand on the compressor tank which was hot enough to not stay in contact more than a second seemed to confirm failure of the compressor. I did have a "freeze" sensor that had come loose from its mount and was sliding around on the base under the large fan, but according to the tech, would not have contributed to the failure. I had taken pictures of the part but do not know how to place them in my response.
I did not have a meter to check voltage ohms etc., but based on his experience he felt that it was a bad compressor.
What would be an average cost on a Unit replacement when I finally get that done?

Factory price is $1,258 https://airxcel.partsvia.com/shop/cart, but I have heard others have purchased them on the internet for under a thousand. It is the expensive model with the drain pump. They are ease to install.

Thanx in advance.

John

My front air quit in the first week I owned the coach (2015 Aspire). Cost $1,700 for NIRVC Dallas to fix it. Lasted one day. Back to NIRVC, claimed a different problem and $700 fix. Lasted one week. Another repair, $900, first time I needed air didn’t work. Last two repairs done under warranty but still charged to my EW company.

Have had conversations up the chain at NIRVC, coach will be back to them in two weeks. This will be the fourth time the front AC is in for repairs in the first year of coach ownership. Let’s see what they come up with this time.

NiRV had one shipped to my house when I had to replace my #2 unit. The hardest part is getting it on the roof. I used a ladder as a plank and slid the unit from the bed of my truck up to the roof of the RV.

A couple of wingnuts hold the circuit board in place and then only 4 screws hold the unit to the roof.

No caulk is required, however mine is starting to leak so either I have to tighten the screws more of apply a little caulk.

Correction: read this wrong. I was referring to my dash air, not front AC roof air. Sorry...

Hi, I am going to have to replace mine also. Doing the same as yours. Try RV parts Country, they have the best price I have found so far. Also, Adventure RV is a good source. Hope this helps ease the pain.
