Front A/C Unit Noise, rumble & Vibration

Front AC unit started to rumble & vibrate. Assume that this is being caused by a bad blower fan squirrel cage.

Question, can this squirrel cage be replaced or do I need to replace the entire AC unit?

What is the opinion that it is just the squirrel cage or should I get the motor too?

Is this part available and where to order ? - I assume Air Excel and if anyone has the part number and phone number for them that would be great.

How hard is it to replace as a DIY?

Thanks in advance for any info, we are on the road and I don't have access to the manual.

Jim

Jim, turn the fan on by itself, if it still makes the noise it’s the squirrel cage fan. No I wouldn’t replace the motor if it’s just the blower wheel. Yes airxcel would be the place to order one. Hopefully, they will have it. Parts are hard to come by now.

Pm me if you can’t find one.

Thanks Chuck, that will be handy. Is the Coleman Mach 8 the unit in the 2017 Entegra, I thought it was Airxcel? Rollin 101 thanks for that advice, when I did that it sounds like ice in a blender making a batch of margaritas ;-)

Edit: Did a search on Airxcel and I guess they make the Coleman units, now to figure out which one is on our Anthem and what part to order. Also, does the Entegra unit have a condensate pump?

Amazon has them for ~$41. After having one shell out I keep 1 spare on hand.

Jim, the bag of books will have three AC instruction book with the model and serial number of each unit installed on your coach. Also if you have the build sheet in the paperwork of your MH, it will also have the AC's listed. Sad, on the 21's they did away with the build sheet, I used that a lot. Never had to look anything up, it's all on that sheet.

Has this fan been running OK and then started making the noise or has it been setting awhile? If it has been setting awhile it could be a mud dauber nest.

Pull both the outside and inside cover. Here is what mine looked like. It would run in this condition, just not much air movement. was a big boom when it happened - I thought my satellite dish fell.

Another possible cause of the noise could be a bent motor shaft problem. That was the diagnosis on one of our AC units. Luckily, it was replaced under an extended warranty that was included with the purchase of our Bay Star.
