Front Air Tank Pressure

I have a 2016 Cornerstone and I can not air up my front tires with the front tank, as the front tank will only go to 95lbs pressure with a gauge and same showing on dash gauge, and that is with fast idle and pumping the brakes and putting it back on fast idle, the rear tank is at about 125lbs pressure is this normal. ???

Try lowering your jacks again and raising them. Sometimes it there is no pressure in your tanks the valves will not change properly.

It you are tiring to air your front tires up off the coach air system, that is a little difficult. It can be done and you will need a shut off valve for your airline

No it's not normal. Both gauges should always be the same, 125 psi, when the air dryer blows off, after startup.

While driving, they may vary, as the air is being used.

Look for a leak somewhere in the system, while the air is building.

Save yourself a lot of frustration and buy an air compressor to keep in your coach. I carry a Portercable 6 gallon 150 psi unit that is light enough to carry around the coach or use a long enough hose to keep the compressor stored in one location. Viair is also a solution that a lot of like.

I agree and do the same. Another option that I'm considering to reduce the space requirement is a PowerTank system.

I have a 10lb Powertank and love it. It is expensive to buy but it is very high quality. It will last longer than any compressor, airs up the tires much faster and easier than any compressor and the resale value should stay high if the tank and fittings are properly cared for; pretty easy to do. Ten pounds of CO2 lasts about 1.5 years.

I have the Porter Cable compressor and a CO2 Power Tank. Use the CO2 tank for air up after off-roading the jeep and the occasional air tool use. Sometimes will top off a MH tire with it. CO2 has gotten expensive...

I saw Bill's Power Tank system at Quartzsite - quite nice looking and I became envious. They are quite spendy, though. I built my own:

$60 10 pound tank from the Craigslist (or can get one at any welding supply)
$17 fill tank
$137 0-250 lb. adjustable regulator
$13 250 psi hose
$82 digital tire inflator with 6 ft hose and locking tip
$0 old backpack to hold it all

That's just over $300, compared to the 500 or 580 for the Power Tank. The result is not as pretty, but since I use a generic tank, when it is empty I go to the nearest welding supply, drop it off and pick up a new one. I dial the 800 pounds of pressure down to about 180 or 190 and fill the tire quickly. I can adjust it down to lower values to fill the Jeep tires or run tools. A fixed regulator is much cheaper, but not nearly as flexible.

You need a out side source for airing tires, you will be a week doing it with the motor home.

Sweet. My DW would shoot me for taking up some of her storage space. That would make quick work for airing tires.

After burning up three of the 120 volt units over the years I bought a Viair 450-P RV. So far it does the job with my 315/80 drive and 365/70 front and tag tires.

Paul, while there have been some fantastic suggestions on how to inflate your tires, the root problem remains..

..you have a problem with your air system.

Before you go shopping, make an appointment with a Spartan Service Center, or a Cummins Coach Care facility.

Do not delay.

We had some issues from day one with our front air system. The problems were very sporadic, and the rear system always remained perfect.

The thing is, the front air system is being used for more items than the rear system. What this means is that if there is a problem with the ability to produce compressed air, you may see it reflected in the front air system sooner than the rear system.

In our case, the engine driven compressor finally died on a Sunday afternoon alongside I-10. 7600 miles total.
