Front door gas shock

Has anyone figured out how to replace the hinge metal bar at the top of the front door with a gas shock. We had one on our Travel Supreme and it was far superior to what they are currently using.

I don't have your specific unit but, on my Monaco I bought a G22 20" gas shock and two g825 3/4" prop brackets from RV Designer. I mounted one
bracket on the outside above the door. I opened the door to 90 degrees and mounted the second bracket to the exterior of the upper portion of the door. It works great. Since both are black it blends in well with the existing door trim. The door will stay open even in a strong breeze
