Front TV

I need to remove the front TV above the dash. Anyone done it before. It looks like there is one locking screw in the middle that holds it onto the mount, but I thought I would check and to see if anyone has gone there before. Need to add some vent holes into the cabinet to ventilate the GPS enclosure.

Yes, there's one screw to remove and then the TV will hang from the two attachment points - angled metal pieces that fit into bracket slots near the top. Once you've removed the screw it's easy to see the bracket with a flashlight.

I found it helps to have a second person because the HDMI cables aren't especially long and need to be disconnected (along with the power cord) if you want to entirely remove the TV. In particular, watch for the small min-RCA type connector; it comes out easily and you may not even notice it. It plugs into the back of the TV and not along the side where the HDMI cables are.

I completely removed the TV so I could route a cable from an Apple TV in the driver's side overhead cabinet.
