Frozen departure and enroute
It was 15 when we started breaking "camp" this morning. Everything went well until we tried to pull slides it. It appeared our toppers were clear but when my son brought over a taller ladder he found ice close to all the rollers. It was cold enough that it all came off easily. Slides closed well after that and we were almost on our way..........
Other than 2 other glitches.
We drove to the park entrance to hook up the toad. I grabbed my Brake Buddy from the forward left basement, took 3 steps and went on my butt! I feel very lucky that was the only ice-fall we experienced! Tested my new shoulder by catching myself with my left hand to keep from going all the way on my back/side. Titanium is tough stuff!
Note to others: The full forward DS basement compartment doesn't warm as well as the rest. The power cord on my Brake Buddy was very cold and stiff. Second note for Brake Buddy owners: Brake Buddy doesn't like extreme cold. It took several tries to get it to activate then several more to get it to run through the test sequence. I was ultimately happy enough with it to hit the road.
Our basement temp has been in the mid 40s during our stay in Boise. We hit the road at 20-25, basement went to 32-35 with thermostat set at full hot (Zones 1 & 2 on burner). We got to our overnight at about 25. Less than an hour after setting up the basement was back at 41 and rising
