Archer2,
To me it sounds like a venting issue since you stated removing the opposite fuel cap fixed the issue. Check the vent hose for kinks or blockage. Remember you have to displace as much air as fuel you are putting in.
I’m an expert on venting and have received a few fuel baths because a heating oil tank was not vented properly.

Thanks Gary. I’ll be refueling again in the next couple of days and I’ll give your method of holding the nozzle sideways (like gangsta’s shooting handguns in the movies) a try. I’ll follow up here with whether it helps.

It won’t help! I’ve got the same problem and only way to fuel is take passenger side cap off. Spartan will drop the tank to fix the problem.

I've owned both, the 21 is different with the fill sitting higher up.

An option many employ is to use the jacks/leveling system to raise the fill side.
Be sure to raise the whole side/DON'T twist the chassis.

So far both tanks have been filled at a regular station close to where I store the MH. I have not filled at a high volume pump yet. I will soon when we head out.
A regular pump no problem.

Follow up: filled the coach again from about a half a tank. Tried Gary’s tip of holding the nozzle sideways but no bueno. Then removed the door-side filler cap and continued to fuel into the driver-side filler at full flow (this was at a Pilot/Flying J truck stop) with no problem.
So that pretty much nails down that there is some kind of vent restriction. Anyhow it’s not a big enough deal to worry about. I’ll have it looked at next time it’s getting serviced. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I have only filled from the driver side and had had no issues using the high volume pumps. I have never tried or had to remove the opposite fuel cap.

I’ve learned not to insert the nozzle all the way down in the filler tube. Half way and no venting issue. Learned that on my boat years ago. Works on my 2021.

Same here. Been doing it for years that way. It works. I am afraid to fuel with both caps off, as there is too much potential for a big overflow/spillage.

I have also done the same thing for years, just the first or second coil of the nozzle grip spring. Listen for the last few gallons filling, then slow the pump down. Glad to know it still works on the 21's

Be careful doing this, we had a 05 Country Coach that wouldn't accept fuel on left side fill so I would take off cap on right side and problem solved, but 2 times the nozzle didn't trip and pumped 5-? gallons out the other side before I noticed or someone told me. Our 17 Anthem had same issue and same solution but I kept a very close eye on RH side.

I have a 21 Aspire W. No fill problem as I normally go at the second notch towards the pump on the handle. Only fueled at Loves.
