Funky taste in the water lines?
My Hubby and I bought a new 14 Aspire 44B we are loving it even though it has only been 3 weeks. We are now noticing a funky taste in our water:( any ideas?

My guess its still has some of the winterizing solution in it. Drain tank, then use Search on this forum for sterilizing water tank and lines. There will be several steps so go slow and don't forget any and I bet it clears up. Good luck

Your owners manual has the procedure for sanitizing the system. Follow it.
When my Anthem was new I had a funky taste and smell only from the water dispenser in the refrigerator. After a few gallons of water were run through it, everything was fine and still is.

Sounds like some winterizing fluid still in the lines. Had the same issue when winterized our coach, flush system good and should be fine.

There is an older posting on this subject. My Aspire had a funky plastic jug taste and smell. I put in a Reverse Osmosis system with several carbon filters and the smell was eliminated. Other owners said they tracked it down to the type plastic hose on the hose reel. They said they replaced it with a Walmart 1/2 drinking water hose and the smell went away. I haven't used my new Anthem enough to know if that is still a problem. I noticed the smell even when brushing my teeth not just drinking.

For the few days we spent in our new Anthem, I flushed all the water lines while at Lazy Days and the water was fine. Like others said, mine was delivered full of antifreeze.

Lose the hose that came with the coach, use the fabric wind up hose and flush the tanks, the stock hose will never lose the garden hose taste or smell. I think they had a bad batch of them.

To confirm the hose is the culprit, taste/sniff the water inside the coach then go outside and unhook the water from the CG connection and sniff the retractractable hose. I thought at first it was just new polyethylene water tanks and I disinfected them with bleach solution. Turned out it was that crazy hose. The replacement costs about $15. The hose on the reel is 35 ft I think. A 50 foot hose won't fit. The 25 ft is too short. Your best option is buy a 50 ft and cut it. The end attached to the hose reel is held with hose clamps so you only need one end with a hose. The only thing I don't recall is the hose 5/8 in or 3/4 in. I think it was 5/8 inch hose.

Dave, did you have the hose problem on your new 2104? I thought Entegra had changed the hose supplier.

We filled up water tank at home
After we got back from Fl. Could It be our RV filter may need changing ready?
Thanks

Probably not.
Can you give us a little more detail about the "funky taste"? Does it also smell? Search "water line issues anyone?" And you will find 4 pages of this topic for Entegras.

That is unlikely unless some antifreeze was in the filter chamber and not flushed before the filter cartridge was installed. Being that you took deliver at LD, nothing they did would surprise me after my deliver experience with them.
