Gen door droop

Went out storage facility to do a couple things and found gen door out about 4Ē. What gives? Safety latch?

The generator on my 19 Cornerstone is operated by a pneumatic ram that pushes it out and brings it back in. In my 15 Anthem, the generator slide was operated by a mechanical system that ran it in and out with a motor.

I assume that you have a leak in your pneumatic system (if that is what you have on your coach). I have to fire up my Cummins to get the generator slide in or out.... it will not move unless the Cummins is running.

Now to be clear, my generator does not sag out after even weeks of sitting somewhere without the Cummins running. I am guessing that there is a problem with your equipment.

Mine is pneumatic and will function as long as there is air In system and acc is on

It is a bygone vestige of a prior approach, I think. Back in earlier days, there was an interlock.

However, if you could lock it, before you could put the generator out, you would have to crawl under the coach to pull the pin, then get back out and switch the pneumatic ram out and then do it all again in reverse.

It is not used on a pneumatic system to the best of my knowledge. I might be wrong, but I think I am right.

When I was changing the oil in gen I saw it and was messing around with it. Didnít seem to have a function, so Iím sure youíre correct.

The second stage of the generator slide no longer pulls out do to the wiring of the Collision Mitigation System in the front area where a license plate would go. On the previous coaches before the 19's, reach in pull that handle down and the generator slid further out for easier access.

I don't know why it's considered a "safety" since the opening switch is behind a locked door, but that's how it was explained to me... a safety feature. However, in our case the engine does not have to actually be running, just pressing the ignition button will supply the voltage to the switch. FYI only.

Wonder if coach is drivable with this malfunction, since air holds it in and when coach is all aired up it is closed?

Yes it is drivable. There have been many that creep out while youíre shutdown.
