Generator Fault Code 24

Has anybody had to change the coolant temperature controller on their Onan generator? Is it something one can do by himself or a pro technician is needed?Thanks.

What Onan generator model do you have? Is it on a slide or would you need a forklift to remove it? More info needed.

It is the Onan 12500, standard in Anthem 42 RBQ. It is on a slide, therefore the body of the generator is easily accessible.

If you are talking about the temp sender, I have witnessed two removed. The first one was frozen so badly it broke the housing it was screwed into, and had to be pulled and sent to Onan for repair of the complete housing. The second one I told the owner what happened to the first one, and he took a couple of days putting penetration fluid and turning the sender both ways to try to get it out. About three days later it came out without any damage.

I've not searched for a service manual to see where the engine temperature sensor is. (Fault code 24) Onan offers a 3 year warranty, your RV is a 2014, did you check to see if that part is covered?

No, I have not checked that, but the coach is not yet two years old, it will be this coming June, so everything should still be under warranty. I will call them as soon as I will be able to. Thanks.
