Generator slide outs
Pulled the release pin and tried to pull the generator cover/front fascia forward. Would not budge despite pulling and tugging and preloading up and down.
Finally pulled the generator slide release. Now everything comes rocketing out since I anticipated no moment and pulled the fascia too hard. Unfortunately, not only did the generator come sliding out but the square tubes that mount the front fascia came completely out of the generator rails and is now lying on the ground.
Trying to reinstall the front fascia rails back into the generator rails is problematic in that they will only go in part way and stop about 4 inches from where they should be. Seem to be hitting the "stops" for the front cover.
Seems like I heard about something like this before? Searching has not uncovered any insight yet.

rough roads
Ok, I am new at this (first coach and all...) so I am looking for a reference point. We just made a run from Michigan to South Carolina and back covering about 2000 miles.
I actually feel sorry for the coach for the pounding it seems to take. I have no doubt about the numerous and continuous component failures talked about on the forums with all the shaking going on. I really cannot believe how well the coach itself stays together based on the beating it seems to take.
We ran across some glass smooth pavement and the coach seemed to be totally isolated and uncannily quiet. Then some sections of broken pavement where everything in the coach was rattling and shaking. I half expected the ceiling to fall down a couple of times over some of the bumps, uneven pavement sections and non-aligned bridge pavement.
Are the roads THAT bad and I just need to get a grip on reality or are your coaches quieter than mine? Nothing against Entegra because many of the sections of pavement on I-75, I-40, I-26, I-20, I-77 and I-80 were down right pitifully bad. Like, third world country bad. Anything would rattle rolling along them.
I was running the high side on tire pressures going south (125 PSI cold front and 120 PSI cold rears.) I was still in the "crying wolf" mentality with the TPM finally working and wanted some reserve pressure in case any thing happened (like the slow leaks I have been chasing.) Since the slow leaks turned out to be fixed with the new valve stems I lowered (115 PSI front cold and 110 PSI rear cold) the pressures on the return as the TPM seemed stable and working fine so I trusted it more. Ride quality and shaking and rattling was better but.....far from what I would call a relaxing atmosphere. Final leg home I was running even lower pressures cold (110 PSI front and 100 PSI rear. This is marginally enough air pressure based on corner weights and the tire charts so it makes me a very nervous.
Dishes and stuff still rattling, the coach is still a cacophony of noises, creaks, rattles, etc. at every pothole. Anything not bolted down is on the floor. Shower doors off the tracks rough. Better but still not quiet.
I know the coach is not going to be like a car but it is still rather noisy and rough. I find the noise distracting and tiring. Entegra's stuff works great as far as controlling ride motion and wind noise (well, I would like the extra damping capacity of the 2016 mono-tube Bilsteins on the front end and am looking at the retrofit possibilities) and nothing actually falls apart but it is about what I would expect if my house were in a 7.0 earthquake. I can also see why the larger 365 tires on the 2016 which can run at lower pressures are also desirable.
Should get some good comparison feedback from the folks traveling north to the Summerfest in Petowsky. Lots of rough pavement and construction on I-75 and I-77 and I-80. Enjoy!
Or, maybe I just need that new JVC sound system in the '16's to drown out the noise. I know I can barely hear XM on our 2013.

I don't know if this is any help, but as far as dishes & dish rattling, we put towels between pots & pans, so they don't rattle.
We also keep our cups & glasses in baskets, we use empty toilet paper rolls in between them to keep them from rattling . You can lay a couple towels over utensils & silverware to help that to.

Your condition sounds a bit extreme to me. Tire pressure definitely too high. Review forum for all settings but my front are 100 psi cold and I think the drive axle are as low as 85. There is a lot here on tire psi setting. That being said, my coach with tire settings bangs and rattles just west of Baton Rouge on I10 due to gaps in pavement. So if road is that rough, then you'll get some pounding and rattling. But I bet if you lower your tire pressure, it will ride better. Tommy

Had the coach been parked for awhile when you tried to open the generator door? I have a problem with the solenoid leaking when the coach is parked and it puts pressure on the generator door and it will not open. I have to turn the key on which retracts the generator slide and the door opens fine. The one time I let it sit for an extended period of time the pressure built up enough to bend the latch pin and shove the door open. Entegra CS has sent me a new solenoid but I haven't installed it yet. In the meantime I keep it in place with a 2" ratchet strap. Just have to be careful not to loosen the strap before retracting the generator slide……..it's comes out with some force……….

Should have been a bit more detailed…….it's the solenoid on the generator slide that is leaking and building pressure on the generator slide cylinder.

Did you ever replace the solenoid and did it fix the problem? Noel

Noel - I have not replaced the solenoid yet. Had a problem with my shoulder so I have not been getting anything done the past month or so. I have an appointment at MHS and they are going to replace the solenoid along with a few other things I can't do right now. I prefer to do this type of work myself but it's a kind of hard to work one handed under the hood……………….

I saw one thing in your post that may solve the rough road problem. Take as few Interstate as you can. 90% of the secondary highways are in perfect shape. We see more of the country and have a much more relaxing drive.
Also, the tire pressure sounds to high. I am running 115 PSI in the fronts and 90 PSI in the rears. I am going to change the front shocks to Koni's. I don't care for the occasionally pounding the front end gets on uneven bridge joints with the stock shocks.

Will do. I also have the retro fit kit from Entegra that keeps the genny slide from "relaxing" when parked so I'm anxious to see if that works. We have a trip planned the first couple of weeks in Sept so my appointment is about a month out. Rotater Cuff surgery in November so we'll be down for awhile after that.
