Thanks for that info. I ended up ordering from them and got the part today, it has a 40# pull rather the 30# of the original. It was $20 the part number is
SE200P40
They also have the replacement brackets PN K-AB180B

Van,
Is that part number for both brackets?

Generator Drawer Modification

The part K-ab180b will not accomplish the desired results.
Like the KENCON 19, the ball is pressed into the bracket and the strain of a 30 lb gas shock caused it to break off. The original bracket was welded to the frame at the factory.
A 40 lb gas shock will only increase the strain on this fitting.
I found the answer to be inserting a "Ball Stud" instead and it seems to do the trick.
Cite my previous post's #3 and #10 for the parts and the steps needed to make this modification.
It is a little more work, but I think you will be satisfied.

Best regards...Gregg

Hi Gregg,
Thanks again, I did order the original shock and my brackets look a bit rusty and worn. I will get the alternate brackets and try those, although I’m not sure if I’ll need to remove the ones that are there.

Gregg did you remove the original welded brackets, how did you go about doing it?

Van,
I did not remove the old brackets.
The balls were broken of and I just drilled the 17/64 hole in the same hole location to assure that the spacing was right.
Then tapped the 15/16 - 18 thread in place.
The new ball studs went right in and tightened nicely.
If the balls are still in place, I would leave them there until they break off and then replace with the ball studs as described. Or I suppose you could break them off and then do the modification.
As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
