Generator slide will not open
Purchased our "new" 2016 Anthem from NIRVC a month ago. The generator was serviced and everything seemed to be working but when I got it out of storage I couldn't get the generator slide to open. I'm hoping a bad switch, there are 3 wires going to the switch. Later today I'm going to try to "short" from the middle terminal to the top terminal and then from middle to bottom to see if that opens the slide. Has anyone else had this problem, couldn't find anything similar on a search. Thanks in advance.

Mark you may know this but you need to have the ignition switch on the coach on for the slide to work. Accessory side will work also.

Richard is correct, I have a new 19 and I still can't get use to going inside and turning the key on. It is one of those safety features I dislike highly!

Don is correct, reboot just got me on the new Vega Touch after just rebooting....twice
Heat worked but not AC. I'll never figure that one out except as a learning experience. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/rebo...rm-426715.html

That is nuts! How many times will somebody open the slide and then simply walk away when their work is finished; leaving the ignition ON and draining batteries in the process?

Rick I agree, I have open the gen slide and left the switch on before but I use the accessory side. And the coach was plugged into 50 amp so never ran the batteries down.
I think it’s the opposite of what it should be, you wouldn’t want the slide to come out driving down the road.
I think it would be easily changed as there is 12 volt available where the slide switch in located.

Also need to have air for the slide to work. Not sure how long your coach was in storage, but the air may have bled down enough to render the air ram useless.

The way it was explained to me that is was a safety factory not to have kids playing with it. One steps inside of the compartment while the other one closes it with the switch, one crushed child. I guess it like leaving the doors on a refrigerator when throwing it away.

The generator slide switch is in an outside compartment on a vertical wall.

Thanks everyone, I turned on the ignition and out came the generator slide. The documentation on the Entegra line leaves a lot to the imagination. I traded in a 2008 Country Coach that had so much documentation it had its own filing cabinet. I had a little trouble getting the slide back in but I think the air pressure was a little low. Thanks again to all that helped.

Generator slide will not open
Mark,
Not a problem, glad to help. We have a 16 Anthem so check back if you need anything.
Lots of folks on this forum are knowledgeable and willing to help.

Can’t comment on the ‘16s, 18’s, or the 19’s, but on our 2017 if I turn the ignition key to accessory, one click to the left, instead of “on” I can open my generator.
Now, my assumption is that turning the key to “on” will light up the dash panel and is one click away from starting the coach....

One of the benefits of not having alot of money forced me to get an Aspire.
Manual Lever works everytime, and no key required.
