Generator starting on it own

We are currently camping hooked up to 50 amp service. The generator is set to manual operations.
This morning at 1 am the generator started on it own. It woke us up and I turned it off.
Batteries were charged, we had ac and the generator was on manual operations. I also had quite hours setup.
I checked the generator energy command 30, Cummins Onan manual and did not find a problem.

Solutions?

Solutions?

It's been a known issue with the 7.5 & 8 KW Onan's, If there is moisture intrusion in the big connector on the control cable on the side of the Onan case. The fix is to pull the connector apart and dry it out & apply some dielectric grease. Then when you reconnect, wrap with a waterproof tape.

Steve is correct on the problem on some of the Entegras. One of the moisture problems was the dash AC drain line was on top of the generator plug. I saw mine was like that after others had reported your problem so I moved the drain line away from the area of the plug. There is a post with a photo of the hose moved.

I also wrapped the plug with rescue tape to prevent any moisture from driving in rain and splashing up on the plug.

Thanks guys, you and Steve are very knowledgeable about these units.
I checked and the ac drip lime is right over the gen connections, and I was using the dash ac yesterday and it was putting a lot of water out.
I did not see any moister on the connection and they looked good. I sprayed s moisture remover on them and also added an additional duck tape cover. I will have to find the post on changing the ac drip line.

I hope this fixed the issue.

Brobox, thanks for the photo of the ac drain line. It helped me find the ac drain location. I will have to add the hose as you did.

Thanks again

It's not just Entegras. All the Tiffins had the same issue - clean the connection, grease it up and seal it with rubber or that rescue tape. Moving the drain line helps but the connection still isn't a sealed connector so eventually it will crust over and short out even if the A/C condensate isn't dripping on it. I would put cleaning of that connection on my annual service checklist.
