Getting rid of those stupid inserts on the rear camera screen

I called and talked to the supplier for the information system in my Anthem and he told me there was no way I could delete the left and right inserts on the bottom rear camera screen. I can't remember who posted the fix but I am soooo pleased. I just switched two wires and now the inserts are gone and when I use the left or right turn signal they display on the bottom screen. WOW and they said it couldn't be done!

Thanks guys!

Boy, do I understand that! On the Classic the side cameras take over the GPS screen right when you need it. Atlanta with all the lane changes comes to mind. Thanks to hawgguy posting how to turn the side cameras off.....I don't miss them a bit. Mine were purple on the screen and had no depth perception anyhow.

Actually that's not the fix I was referring to. If you take the dash loose there is a block with three (or maybe it's 4) RCA type plugs in it. Just swap the two outside plugs (the first with the last) and you're done. Then, the inserts disappear and nothing shows up on the upper screen. You can still have the rear camera on the top screen if you want but it is no longer necessary. If I can find the post I'll pt a link up for the fix.

What year coach are you referring too? Cutch and I have Classics which are different than the newer model coaches. Posting the year of the coach is beneficial to other readers as the Nav and camera systems have been changed in every production year. Good post to let other know it can be done.

The solution for our '15 (which had all this configured differently than some other years) can be found in post #26 of this thread.

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/2015...or-240035.html

Depending on your year model - it will all work quite differently. This approach allows me a full screen view on the bottom monitor at all times - rear camera normally, but when I hit a turn signal the bottom monitor will switch to full screen side camera and the upper monitor will switch from whatever it's on to the (almost useless) 3-camera view. That doesn't bother me as I'm not normally using the Rand GPS as primary, but relying on a Garmin instead, and with the 3-camera view I can still tell what's happening directly behind.

I get the impression over the years that whom ever set up the camera system if they ended up with a rear view somewhere (top or bottom) and some sort of side view with a turn signal activation (top or bottom) then they were done.

That's the way mine was done, when I had to replace the Nav/Radio head, plugged everything back is it was before (took photos) The camera screens were opposite. Before the turn signals were on the backup camera screen, after the turn signals were on the Nav screen...neither one enjoyable in tight traffic.

I know I could have played with the settings to change it, but it is much more usable, for me, turning them off

I have no clue how my Classic is hooked up switch wise. But with the rear camera setting off (in settings), all I see on the backup camera is a large rear view. The side cameras work with the turn signals and do not effect the GPS.
