Girard Door Awning Closed position

this pictures show my front door awning in its fully retracted position. It doesn't look like it has come in all the way. The light was a little tough for this picture but I think you can see it well enough.
Looking for opinions
thanks

Hi Van

Open it again and make sure the fabric is not overlapped causing it not to close properly

Mine has a similar slant but the gap at the bottom is not as great as yours. It does seem that it should be flush with the awning housing when closed.

Similar issue. Entegra service adjusted it at the Tampa show last week.

No I did not see them make the adjustment. Tech indicated there was an adjustment bolt or screw to bring it in tight!

adjust the parked travel stop screw

If yours is like my '13 the adjustment is just like the shade motor adjustment. Open the awning partially and look carefully at the very front of the powered roller at the roof. It is buried in the dark so you need a flashlight even in the day sometimes. This is a spot a good ladder helps!! There are two small plastic allen head adjusters to set the travel stops. It needs to pull the fabric tighter to seat the cover. The cover seats at the top first and then tips in. Just adjust the travel screw to pull it in tighter. Google "Girard awning travel adjustment". I found the directions this way. A bit of trial and error with the adjusters and it parked nicely for the first time ever in 5 years. It never parked correctly since we got it but I did not know how it should look at the time!!

The plastic allen head adjusters are a bit cheap for such an expensive awning. They do not corrode (good) but are hard to tell what size allen wrench to use as it is hard to push the key into the plastic hex hole and easy to strip the hole if wrong key is used. I sorted thru SAE and metric keys to find something that finally fit tight. Don't remember what it ws unfortunately but yours may be "different" anyway if someone has been monkeying with it in the mean time.
