Girard Fit

My AR tendency is rearing its head! I noticed today that my Girard housing and the awning itself doesn't follow the flow of the front cap very well. The housing itself looks pretty good when you look face on but the awning sticks about about 2 inches at the bottom and doesn't follow the same angle.

Question is, do I adjust it to close further or is that what everyone else's is like. I have the same question and pic in to CS.

The pic is a little misleading due to angle, it's standing just in front of the entry door.

Thanks for the reply!

Adjustment screw at the motor. You extend the awning a little and the screws are accessible, outboard is for extension, inboard is for retraction.

Vance, I would be careful adjusting the awning. The motor is suppose to shutoff at the same time the awning hits the stops. If you adjust it too far the motor will try to continue running after the awning hits the stops and ruin the motor. Not saying don't just be careful. Noel

Thanks. I will be very careful! The manual says 1/4 turn = ~1". I need to go in ~1" so I will try 1/4 turn.

Vance,

It looks like you came to the house and took a picture of ours. Someone previously mentioned the sensitivity of the motors, and I have saved mine for PDI visit although I hate seeing it stick out. Let me know what CS tells you. They had referred me to Ricky at Girard systems.

Ron.

Have had a number of conversations with a neighbor here in Fl who has a 8 month old King Aire that had the rear pass awning deploy while doing 70 and it flew around while attached and did a lot of damage. Broke a window, skylight, paint and basement doors. His opinion is that if it doesn't look right have it checked immediately. Carry some large plastic tie straps to secure it until you get it serviced.

Entegra and Girard CS recommend limit and cassette angle adjustments. Limit isn't a problem but cassette angle may be until I see how it's done.

I got the manual. Looks like pitch angle is as simple to adjust as limit. I'll try it as soon as the wind dies (and it warms a little, it's still high 30s out there!)
