Going to Canada w/ A Pet

Has anyone crossed into Canada with a pet? What's the process? We have vaccination papers. Do we need anything else? What problems have you encountered?

TIA

We had to have shot records and a rabies certificate. He tried to lick the agent to death so it was easy.

We just took Marco over at Calais, Maine. Had all docs required, but were never asked for any. The agent was much too interested finding out that we were 13' tall and his northbound underpass was 12'6". He had to close the southbound lane to get us out. He was (shall we say) direct.

We had a problem once when returning to Canada. We made the mistake of tellinh the border guard that we had two labs o board. Well she had to come aboard and give our doggies treats rabies is the only concern.

Brought our two little guys a few years ago. They sternly asked if we had pets, we said yes. They said thank you and enjoy the stay.

As long as you have rabies certificates printed out and up- to- date vaccinations printed as well as a current license.. You are good to go. We were disappointed they they did not even ask on either side of Ontario/ NYState border, as we were at the ready!
