Those 315 80r22.5 tires are rated for 8260 each I believe. That gives you a max of 16,520 for the weight. I don't know if Good Year is having as much trouble with that size for balancing or not. Most of the concerns I've heard so far have been on the 295 tires.

Actually max load on the goodyear 315's for the 2017 Aspire single wheel load is going to be 9,090#.

The Bridgestone m860a 315/80r22.5
Is rated for 65mph. But there a big safety margin there I'm sure. Think it's more for wear control. They are a little more on the agressive side. The truck we have them on when on highway speed is 65- 70mph Governed to 75.

I have a new set of General OA 315/80r22.5 that is going on that truck when others wear out. 9090 weight rating a 68 mph. Not so agressive .

I guess when time comes to replace steers on anthem I'm probably going to try one of those, unless something else comes up. I'll put up with little noise for the safety margin.

Kinda sounds like the same song that was sung a few years back about Michelin XRV. Blow outs can happen to any brand tire at any time with or without a TPMS. Glad to hear the people survived.

I guess I might as well add some more fuel to the fire on this subject. We also blew the right front tire on our 2014 Aspire 44U a few weeks ago. It was a first experience, and not one that you would want to repeat. If a driver just happened to be one-handing the steering when a tire blows, the steering wheel would easily be ripped from that one hand. I know that I'm guilty of having a bite to eat at times while driving and using one hand much too often. I learned that two is definitely better. My tire did give a bit of a warning in that I felt a bit of road chatter, and initially assumed that it was being caused by a not so smooth roadway. I changed lanes to see if the chatter improved, but when it didn't I knew that it was bad news. Almost immediately upon moving back into the right lane, the tire blew and it was definitely lock in and hang on time. I didn't try to accelerate, but I did stay off the brakes until I felt that I had control of the coach. I gradually pulled to the shoulder and brought it to a stop. Fortunately, the damage was limited to a ripped out wiring harness that services the steps, docking light, and keyless entry. I'm currently awaiting repairs on all of the above.

Congratulations on a great piece of driving and glad you had little damage. Can happen to any tire any time. Try to always be prepared.

I will have the ride height checked for the 4th time, but I have my doubts. I have had axle weights since the coach was new, but could never get a 4 corner weigh, I was very surprised.
No one wants to believe the manufacturers, but I will post what I was told at Spartan Owner's Training in 2013 after getting my four corner weights which showed driver's side approximately 750 heavier. The tech (Big Mike) told me that as long as the weights are within 1500 of each other, I was good...its been several years, and there continue to be changes along the way, might be worthwhile to ask the folks at Spartan.

I should add, that the Spartan have no requirement to defend how Entegra weights the chassis side to side, but to their chassis capabilities. They are speaking to their own liability, I think, in this case. JMHO

Heartily agree!
And when the tire experts release their finding we will all know the cause of the blowout, be it from road debris or degradation from the heat generated by decreasing pressure that may not have been detected.

Sad to hear. But unless there was an operational tpms there is no way to assess blame.

I let my personal opinion enter into the post and that is just what it is my personal opinion. The post was made to inform the seriousness of G670 tires, nothing more. It was passing on hoping that others will never have to experience their tragedy. This was one of our own and it hit close to home for me complete with tears when I received the email.
I'm no expert on anything...but I see in this statement above that "the same MH, the same tire"...I have to wonder if the problem is not JUST the tire, but that tire in that position on THAT coach?

I have to wonder if there is a problem in the engineering of that tire position in the Aspire? I know that HR had a recall because a specific tire position had interference from part of the coach with the tire.

And since the poor guy who had the terrible accident had his coach in twice since April for alignment work...doesn't that imply he was struggling with some sort of steering or alignment issue? ( Not trying to imply anything negative about him except to point out this may have been multifactorial and not JUST the tire...)

Prayers for his family, so glad they survived!!!
