Got our PDI date...what to expect?
We just found out our new Cornerstone has arrived at NIRVC Atlanta and our PDI is set for Friday, June 17th!
Our plan is to power drive up from Key West on Wednesday and stay in a hotel close by so we can spend all day Thursday resting up to be sharp and ready for Friday. We think we should keep the room for Friday night also and do our move in on Saturday morning.
Does this sound like a reasonable plan to those of you with experience? This is our first RV of any kind so we appreciate any and all advice.
If anyone that has had a recent delivery can share with us what to expect that would be very helpful.
We are having NIRVC set up our Toad, DirecTV and TPMS as well.
Thanks to everyone! This forum has been so educational and we really appreciate the help and look forward to meeting everyone!

I urge you to move in Friday night and start getting used to your new home on the NIRVC lot. That way you can explore all the systems and crest a list of questions for the tech for the next morning. All JMHO

Here is a link to our report:

We agree with the idea of getting into the coach as soon as you can. Find a checklist. We actually used one for those buying used coaches to give us ideas. NIRVC has a checklist as well.
Review all the pages you can find for those getting a new coach and make your own list. We used a low tech form: Pencil and paper....
We also videoed the whole PDI - Justin was fine with it. Don't hesitate.
But mostly sit back and enjoy!

Thanks for all the great replies. We will call and cancel the 3rd night at the hotel and start living the dream in the NIRVC parking lot!
We are hoping to stay at Stone Mountain for a few nights to really shake things out. It sounds like NIRVC sets this up but if not we have no problem paying to stay close by.
After that we are headed to Kings Bay Sub Base RV Park for a few nights to check out their facility.
Thanks again for all the help!

I just did this..we lived at NIRVC for 4 days while we inspected and moved our stuff (moving was a b***ch) they took care of our DISH, took care of a couple of items we found, and we stayed there as stone mountain was overbooked so we get a couple of days there next trip down. Todd , Justin, and Woo and crew put up with my idiosyncracies and answered my questions..I could not be any happier given the circumstances...We had the two coaches right next to each other with water and 50 amp hookup so we could take our time. There was one major issue with the levelers which was not NIRVC fault and because of their setup (new building will be ready soon) but Entegra stepped right up and my remote tech took care of it. Just understand that some of the items on the Entegra work a bit differently than other coaches. And don't be afraid to ask them questions. This crew knows their stuff..

Your idea to go a short distance to an RV park to figure out how to live in the coach is the right idea. We moved 30 miles after we left the dealer before pulling into an RV park (prearranged). In that 30 miles, the DW spent the whole trip mid-coach as every time I turned right, the dishwasher flew out to hit the refrigerator, and every time I turned left, the refrigerator freezer door flew out and banged into whatever was there. Dee spent the trip with her arms outstretched keeping things in place. No one bothered to tell us (and we forgot to ask) how the dishwasher and refrigerator lock. It was a "clown car" for 30 miles. I think that the music that always played when Charlie Chaplin ran around or the Keystone Cops ran from car to car while trying to accomplish something was playing on the radio (or just in our minds) the whole trip. In the next week, we learned all the things we needed to learn (or at least most of it)
Take your time. ENJOY!
Gary

Thanks to everyone!
We have changed our hotel to stay in the coach following our PDI and have booked our follow on stays in Kings Bay and Tampa before heading home.
We will be at Spartan for the August 8-12 class unless an Entegra specific class has a cancellation.
Stand by for some stupid questions once we get our Entegra!

There are NO stupid questions, just embarrassing mistakes because you did NOT ask.

Chris, if you like you can drop the coach off in Cape Coral on your way home and I would be more than happy to do the shake down for you this summer. Enjoy the new coach and wave as you go by on the way home.
