GPS Compass

When we park our Anthem for the night or even to get gas, the compass shows N or 360 if using the bearing. Do you have the same issue? Most mornings I have to go to set up and turn the compass off for a few mins and then turn on bearing or direction on the radio menu for it to indicate on the radio display again. Not that it is a big deal, just wondering if others have to do the same thing.

As always thanks and safe travels.

Hee's my guess...Your vehicle can sense Mag North, just like a compass, but Mag North is about worthless when maps are in True North. As a pilot, you know your rig displays True North, 'cause pilots are the only people in the world who care about Mag North, and navigators are the only people in the world who know Grid North. GPS systems use location to know Mag Var, to convert sensed Mag Hdg to True. In the old days, you had to enter a Zone into your vehicle heading system to make this conversion, and there were 8 or so Zones in the US. That Zone has been replaced with GPS Present Position.

Press on the N. It offers: north up, heading up or 3D view. Select heading up and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the replies. Do you have to reset the system just about every day for it to indicate on the radio? In my cars it always indicates correctly and I don’t have to turn anything off and then on again like in my coach.
