Grinding 43-48 MPH Anyone?
It seems we hear a perceptible grinding sound between 43–48 mph and then higher speed it all smoothed out. It’s almost as if driving over rumble strips and then disappears. I’m in a 2017 Anthem.
Anybody else getting that? Anyone have a clue as to the cause?
Pat

Is the sound while you're on the accelerator or coasting? Have you checked ride height to be sure it's correct? Is it louder in the front or back? Can you make it produce the sound each time you hit 43-48 mph? I certainly wouldn't ignore it, it could get expensive.

How many miles ? You may need driveshaft lube or check ride height.
The short drive shafts can rumble at certain speeds.

Yep, that sounds like universal joints on the driveshaft. Either worn or just dry.

Pat,
I have my grease gun with me if you want to give that a try. Let me know and I can give you a hand if you want.

Pat,
Any investigation of drive line issues should include the checking that the two U joints are in phase. Being just a spline off will cause issues.
Probably not the problem but it won't hurt to check.

FYI, in our last coach Freightliner recommended removal and examination of any U-Joint that wouldn’t accept lubricant. We had that very issue and when I removed it one of the joints was completely frozen.
I had a local driveline shop locate a new joint and I fixed the issue under $65
Beats having a tow.
