Half bath vent under sink

Does anybody know if the vent under the sink in the half bath of the BRQ floor plan is a return vent or should actually put out warm air? Here in Moab the night temperature was in the high twenties and the entire motor home was toasty warm, except the half bath which is not cold, but less warm than the rest of the space. Putting a hand in front of the vent, I do not feel any air coming out. Perhaps it is a return?

I'm not sure about the BRQ? But in my 44U it is a heat exchanger in the center of the vanity.

In my RBQ the half bath ceiling vent will run you out of there. I had to close it half way to be able to breath in there. I would venture to say your vent is closed or not connected. There are two slides knobs in the center of the vent, check to see if they are open. If you can see up into the vent, then it is probably not connected to the duct. Remove the cover and check that.

I never looked at the cabinet vent, but my guess it is just a gravity flow to keep the pipes from freezing. It might even be on the basement heater.

Sorry didn't read close enough to notice your questions was for the 1/2 bath. Now I wonder if their is a vent in mine that room has been pretty chilly.

The vent under the vanity of my 45K CS does not put out warm air. It does provide for airspace communication to the pipes running under the sink which I think this helps with freeze protection.

It is fairly toasty in mine as the Aquahot unit sits directly beneath the half bath,

Mauro,

What is on the other side of the 1/2 bath wall? If is anything like ours there is a heat exchanger in the salon area that backs into the 1/2 bath. I think that the grill in the 1/2 bath is to get some airflow/warm air from the heat exchanger in the salon area into the bathroom. If they put a full fledged heat exchanger in the 1/2 bath it would probably get too warm, but I think that as is it could use more heat than it has. Leaving the door open slightly in colder weather helps.

OK. It makes sense. A vent from the aqua hot system just for that little bathroom would probably be an overkill, so it is reasonable to conclude that that vent has other purposes, may be just take a little heat from the other side of the wall where a heat vent just under the fireplace gives a LOT of warm air. Regarding Brobox observation regarding the ceiling vent, right now I do not know if it works or not. I assume that being on the ceiling it is connected to the heat pumps above. Since it is so cold over here, I did not activate the heat pumps, but I went exclusively with the aqua hot in both electric and diesel modes. Do you think that what I am doing is correct? I am basing myself on all I have read on this forum, while I was waiting for my MH to be finished. Thanks for all your help.

The register under the vanity is not equipt with a heat exchanger and is simply a vent to allow air in and out from under the base of the vanity. An actual heat exchanger would probably cook that room. With the heat from the aquahot rising into that room and the heat from the exchanger aimed under the fireplace, it should be warm enough.

I believe mine puts out warm air when the heat is turned onto the Gas setting on the thermostat. I will check it this weekend.

It I have the heat pumps on, the 1/2 bath gets pretty warm. If I have the AQ heat on, then its a little cooler than the rest of the rig but not enough to be an issue. You could try cracking the door open a bit to get a little more airflow or turn on the blower (thermostat set to fan inside cabinet) to circulate the air.

As everybody says, the slightly colder temperature is not an issue. I was just interested in knowing if I had a malfunction or not. I am glad that I do not have a malfunction, and both DW and I can live with the temperature as it is. Thanks for all the advice.
