Happy Camper holding tank treatment
Is this really the best product to use? I don't like anything I have ever used.
I just ordered two of the 360 Siphon vent covers. We drove 1200 miles round trip and never had an odor. On the way back from the track Sunday the gray water smell would knock you down. Everything I read says this Happy Camper is the real deal. Looking for feedback.

We use RV-Digest it made by Unique after having some problems in the past. I've not found anything to match this stuff. It's GREAT.

Sorry Stan but when I'm at he track for three days I have no way to dump until I get to a dump station or home. Your answer is not my answer. I did NOT ask if I should use a product. I ask about a certain product.

We have tried a few things and have now been using Happy Camper for over a year and have been happy with it. Nothing is perfect I don't think but Happy Camper is pretty close.

FWIW, have you considered the possibility of a shorted cell in your starting batteries causing overcharging, overheating and as a result emitting hydrogen sulfide gas (rotten egg smell)? This occurred in our Allegro Bus not long before we traded for our Anthem. We searched inside diligently throughout the inside of the Bus but found the problem when we walked the length of the coach on the outside passenger side and the odor would knock you down where the batteries were located. Replaced - odor gone. Life good, then found the Anthem!

X2 on the Happy Camper. I have used it for the last two years and IMHO, it is the best of all I have used. I also use it in the Slendide Washer in the MH and our SB house to give them a good cleaning about twice a year.
Good Product and costs less than the others.

It is not unusual for us to go *far* longer than three days on our 15 year old rig without dumping, but we have never had any kind of odor problem inside unless we forgot to fill the toilet overflow trap. If you are experiencing an odor problem, there must be an air leak in the system. I would have the dealer do a smoke bomb test to discover where the problem is originating.

Many people here have recommended Happy Camper, and swear by it. I've never used any sort of treatment in my rig, but if you feel you need to, it's probably as good or better than any other treatment. A quick search for 'Happy Camper' will turn up lots of happy campers that use it and swear by it.
It will also turn up lots of campers that have no odor problems and use no additives, like myself. If I were you, I'd ask myself why this has not been a problem before now, and find out what has changed to cause it. IMO, your coach is talking to you, and it would be in your best interest to listen.
Just my $.02, satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.

In every coach we have owned (six of them) we have had the same issue. While driving and depending on wind direction and speed we will get the grey water smell. We have never had a smell while sitting. On my last coach I installed the Shark Fin (or one like it, I don't remember the name) and the issue went away. I have looked into the 360 Siphon and I think it is even better than the Shark Fin. As I said we drove 1200 miles to Ruidoso and back and never smelled anything. Then driving back from Collage Station Sunday the smell was bad. This is not black water, it is the grey water. If the 360 Siphon works as well as I hope it does then I will not need any product either.
Heat may be the reason I have an issue when others don't. In Texas even in late Sept. 95 degree days are not uncommon. Grey water sitting in a tank at 95 degrees will get nasty.

FWIW, while driving you can "jiggle" (that is a technical term) the water out of the traps. Be sure to put your drain stoppers in when you hit the road. Our shower drain was a culprit a couple times on long hauls, bought one of those flat rubber kitchen drain covers to put over the drain when travelling. Also, pour a little water into the traps after you drain the gray tank the potential is there to pull water from the trap by siphon effect.

Great post. Never thought about putting stoppers in the drains.

Totally agree - we do the same. However we started to get a septic smell even after doing that. Turned out it was coming from the washer. We called CS and they instructed us to pour about a gallon of water into the washer and then run the drain cycle. The very next time we hit the road we got it again, from the washer and this time CS told us to shorten the hose (I think there is actually a post on this). Since we have done that along with the suggestion above - NO smells at all.
