Has anyone replaced their range exhaust cover

We have a 2021 CS 45B. The range exhaust, all I can call it is a flap, is not a good design. Once you unlock it you hear it flapping in the wind. Are we supposed to get up and down a ladder every time you want to open or close it?

I'm not sure why Entegra didn't install something like the dryer vent exhaust cover.

Has anyone replaced theirs?

I’ve learned to tune it out. Kind of like the neighbor’s rooster…
There was one time in severe winds, at just the wrong angle, I snapped it closed.

Mine was painted shut. Once I opened it I used velcro to keep it open. Another suggestion from this forum a few years ago.

I leave mine unlatch. On the rare occasion the wind is in the right direction I close one of the latches with the awning hook. No ladder needed. I don't even latch mine when traveling and it is still quite.

I used "weak"magnets to solve that issue. Strong enough to hold it shut during travel and windy days, weak enough to release on hi fan.

I did a post way back in the modifications thread here: https://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/tel...ml#post3505890

It's been almost five years and this mod is still working great.

It all boils down to the wind direction. On my coach, 90% of the time when we travel, we do not hear the vent cover flapping. On a small percentage of the nights in random RV parks, we hear it making some flapping noises.

It never flaps while traveling at highway speeds. If you tend to stay in one place/position a lot, and the wind is in a common direction, it might be a bigger problem but for us, it is a minor noise.
