Help with 44B Pocket Door Master Bath

The door has detached from the roller. If anyone has found an easy way to repair this I would love to hear it. With the door trim it’s very difficult to see the connect point and get the hinge lock back on the door pin. Thanks

Mike,
I will PM you w/ my E-mail and phone #, I have some pictures along with a few PDF's describing how to remove trim etc. around the door allowing access to the rollers and track.
Someone will probably respond to point you to a few Posts related to this.

Here is a link that has the pictures for removal of the door.
If you type in "Entegra-pocket door" at the top of the page, it will open up to numerous Posts talking about pocket door problems.

If you unlock the tab on the top of the roller, you can lift up and the door and slide the pin out of the bracket at the top of the door. You would then pull the rear one forward, put the door on your foot and lift up to allow for the pin to go into the bracket. You would then do the front one. if you remove the trim at the top inside the bedroom, you might have more room. Would need to see a picture of your opening. You can also reach out to any NIRVC service department for further assistance with this issue.

On my '18 42DEQ (no rear bathroom), the two sliding doors on the closet use the same retaining latch on the roller mechanism. I've had one of the retaining latches open twice resulting in the door coming off the track similar to the OP's door.

Fortunately, I'm able to reach it, without much difficulty (and no trim removal) from inside the closet. Following the most recent retaining latch disengagement, I've tried a new tactic to prevent it from disengaging. It hasn't been in place long enough for me to be sure that it will solve the problem. Still, I'm happy to share what I'm "road testing":

I applied a strip of Gorilla Tape around the retaining latch in an attempt to hold it in place so that it won't become unlatched.

It's only been in place for about 1,200 miles. Not long enough to be sure that it'll work.

For those of you who need to remove trim to access that mechanism, it may be worth a try.

Take care,
Stu

I've had the same problem with my bathroom door on a 45B. I picked up a tip somewhere about putting a big blob of silicone adhesive on the latch to keep it in place. Its worked for about 6000 miles. Easy enough to cut off if you really want to take the door out in the future.

You can do this repair without pulling the molding. It takes a small step, a flashlight, and a helper from below to help lift.

Whenever we drive, I always close all the doors so they lock with the pin. Practically zero change for them to move and come undone at that point.

This just happened to me as well for the second time. This time both latches opened and the door completely slipped off both slider cars.

I was able to reconnect both without removing any trim, but it can be a little tricky.

The first issue was the rear slider car was way towards the back of the pocket cavity. I used a thin yardstick with a magnet taped to the end to coax it back into reach.

Get both cars into the approximate position and ensure the latches are fully open on the fittings attached to the top of the door.

Then I jacked up the door on blocks of wood to get it to the approximate height. One of the blocks was a longer piece that I could step on and use as a lever to jack the door up and down slightly with my foot while I tried to maneuver the pin on the slider car into the slot of the fitting on top of the door.

I had a small flat steel wrench with the end bent at 45 degrees which helped to get the car pin onto the door slot and then flip the latch back into place.

Sorry I don't have any photos, but just wanted to convey it is possible with a little patience to reconnect the door without removing trim, at least it was in my case.
