Help with Floorplan - 1/2 Bath or Not
Hi all. This is my 3rd post in an effort to purchase our first Motorhome. First post was comparing new Entegras to used higher end coaches such as Newells or Foretravels. We have now decided a new Entegra Anthem is the best choice for our situation. We are leaning towards the 44B due to the 1/2 bath and coziness of living area. We also like the 42DEQ layout because of the extra space in the living area. I'm aware this is all personal choice but I'm curious if anyone purchased a coach with the 1/2 bath and later wished they had made a different choice.
It seems to me the benefits of the 1/2 bath are:
A. Easier access while on the highway
B. A toilet for guests
C. The possibility of two people using the bath at the same time
The downside being the living space sacrificed.
Are there other issues we may not have considered.
I would love to hear your opinions on this. I know it's a choice we must make I just want to make sure we haven't missed anything.

We probably will NOT have one without a 1/2 now that we've had one (sorta like that big diesel engine thing )

We had a 13 Aspire DEQ and traded for a 16 Anthem 44B. Loved both coaches but prefer the 44B because of the 1/2 bath. Much better when you have guests and the master bath if far superior to the mid bath. Just a matter of preference IMHO. Can't go wrong with your decision.

We have the DEQ and love it, but if I had it to do over again... I would really consider the additional 1/2 bath. Although this RV was just for my wife and I, we already have had guest stay with us twice and the additional half bath would have been nice. I would have to really look at the models that are arranged like the DEQ but have the additional 1/2 bath. If I was never having guest no need for additional 1/2.

If you are a boondocker, the full bath at the rear is likely a macerator toilet - consumes power to make it work. The center half bath is likely gravity drop - no power consumed (except for the water pump of course.

We made our first 5 month trip that past summer with our first 1/2 bath model. For our type of use, I don't think we would go back to a single bath model. The water saving 1/2 bath toilet really came in handy on an extended stay with electric only hookups. DW loves her full rear bath and large shower.

I didn't think I would like the half bath.
I wanted a mid bath.
DW insisted........so....
Now I really prefer the half bath....that is my bathroom when she is camped out is her full bath

In 2013 we chose the RBQ for the 1/2 bath to have for guests. However 98% of the time it is only the two of us. When we decided to order a 2016 I thought I wanted another RBQ but decided to go with the DEQ. We love the larger living area, having the tv/fireplace up front, more designated kitchen/living areas and love the hutch! We really have not missed the 1/2 bath at all, especially since the shower/toilet is separated from the sinks (which I like having 2). Really comes down to how you use it - both are great choices!

we full time with two teen boys - I, as the father, figured that two baths would be best, never a 'wait' for a place, if you know what I mean - but the wife said more room would be better.
Our single bath bunkhouse has worked fine for 45k miles and 18 months, we don't miss the 'other' bath.(we did have two previous rv's with two baths, but the layout was not as useful for us)...
apparently floorplan might be more important than number of commodes, in the longrun : )

We really like the half bath.
I have not looked at the floor plan of the one bath but in our options the one bath had easy access with the slides closed. The 44DEQ looks like it would be fine for closed slide access.
B and C points are positives we really like.
You will not gain much living space with one washroom but you will lose convenience.

We had a bath & 1/2 Anthem and traded it for a mid bath. We prefer the mid bath. Less water usage(less waste as well), more space and dual sinks. Everything is a compromise. If you want a half bath, the space has to come from somewhere. If I had a lot of visitors, I would prefer the extra half bath. In the end, it's a personal decision based on your needs. Good luck

There are only 2 of us (so the "other people" argument means little to us), but we would not again have a single bath coach. We really like the half bath both as a gravity toilet and it is VERY convenient for when you are driving down the road. Also, we have been surprised at how often we have been thankful there are two bathrooms when we are "full out"
We have not found ourselves pining away for additional room in a 4 slide, 45' coach. Also, we love the 44B and I believe Entegra will tell you it is their most popular and most sold floorplan.

We love our bath and a half and wouldn't go back to a single bath. We never use the CG restrooms. It is just the two of us for the most part, occasionally we take the grandkids, but even so it is nice having two toilets and two sinks in separate areas. We never fill our black tanks, even when boondocking for an extended period of time, due to the extra capacity. I think that the space you give up is insignificant in comparison to the benefits.

We were initially looking at the DLQ models as one bath wasn't an issue. For whatever reason, the TV mid coach was a little perplexing and so we looked at the 44B. I really like the larger space of the DLQ, but once you get used to having an extra bathroom, it's hard to imagine without. In my previous 5th wheel, we only had one bath so we didn't know what we were missing.
If you don't have it, you manage. But once you do, regardless of guests or not, it's very handy!
