As others have said, a lose or corroded neutral can cause voltage fluctuations such as those, but a lot of times, its a load imbalance in the park. Too many rv's on the same leg will drop the voltage on that leg. If the power company has too small or heavily loaded lines, (or too small of a transformer) they adjust the voltage up to make up the difference. If there is a large user nearby such as a factory, when they shut down for the day, the voltage can spike or go to a higher level. If the park is close to a utility sub station, voltages are usually higher. I've even found problems where the power company voltage regulator has failed, and didn't keep the voltage adjusted.

The EMS PT 50 X does have a voltage regulator built in to keep power between 104 & 132 volts. I have one and it does work. It will turn voltage back on after correct voltage has been maintained for 3 minutes. There is also a 3 minute delay when you first plug unit into power plug...

Yeppers. While I’m not an electrician, nor do I play one on TV, this is exactly what my licensed electrician friend told me.

HIGH VOLTAGE is an unbalance, usually caused by a loose/ corrode Neutral, often/ usually back at the transformer, as one side goes up, the other goes down; e.g. 160 vs 80, where 160+80=240

I have been having an annoyance with Vegatouch audio alarm going off when one leg of AC voltage gets up to 129 or 130. The other leg is fine. Voltage on my EMS PT 50 X is high as well on the one leg.

My fluke meter shows high as well at the post. Just on one leg.

I had this a couple months ago at a campground in Maine. Now I have had it several times in the past few days in Tennessee. It is annoying. It clears on its own when the power level goes down. Does not seem to be related to my current load.

I like to leave my audible alarm on my Vegatouch on just in case I have a real issue. Even a simple issue like I need to dump the grey tank. I have no way to turn the alarm off for high AC voltage only. Or to adjust the alarm threshold.

I am starting to believe the 129 or 130 is not that uncommon or a big deal.

I have not had an issue with the high AC going high enough for my EMS PT 50 X to shutoff power.

The only good news is this has been happening during the day not in the middle of the night.

Am I missing anything? Or do I just need to live with this minor annoyance?

Not really a 'voltage regulator'

It has Hi & LO AC Voltage trips
132VAC and 104VAC

It also will not allow power if it senses reverse polarity, open neutral, open ground and will also trip the AC Power if Hz goes high and if 240V is sensed it trips the AC Power

OP doesn't need a hardwired unit...his portable HAS the protection

Agree that if 1 leg is high then other leg is high another day....check for loose neutral
Pedestal, ATS, RV Main AC Panel

You bought a surge protector from HUGHES. They also sell Autoformers. Two different things.

Brand name is Hughes Autoformers

They sell 'Voltage Boosters' and 'Surge Protectors'
They also sell 'Voltage Boosters WITH Surge Protection'

That is 100% correct. That is because that was the name of the company before they started selling Surge Protectors. Now they sell "Watch Dog" surge protectors. The Autoformers with surge protection are just that Surge Protection only. Not Autoformer and EMS. People get very confused about this. The term "Surge Protector" is very misused and not understood by "Newbies."
