House Batteries

Need to replace house Batteries on 2018 Anthem

How many are in the compartment
Are they 6 Volt

I know they have to be AGM batteries you wouldn’t want flooded batteries in there.

Biggest question how do you access the batteries removed the panel see the batteries is there a secret to taking them out And replacing them.

I sure wish it had an access panel in the floor of coach.

Any suggestions will be appreciated
Mac

There are 4 L16 AGM’s behind the panel. They weight about 115 lbs each. The first thing I would do before removing your old batteries is check and see about the availability of replacements. Lifelines and Full River seem to be the preferred brand. The wiring is not difficult, however two fit men may be required to remove and replace the batteries due to the awkward location. Good L16’s cost $8-900 each.

Sounds like time to consider lithium.

Here is a post by Larry that was so kind to share his expertise.

A recent post by others that have come before you and what had t be done to find batteries. Grab a cup of coffee, a lot of information for your situation. L 16 batteries are currently in very short supply. Do not replace with OEM batteries, as you have found out, they do not last. My current choice of brands available will be FullRiver.

I'm 63 and the L16's were easy to remove. they slide easily across the carpet. My biggest challenge was the roll out tray, since I have 2 and it was a stretch to reach the batteries. I went with Lifepo4 as a replacement and so glad I did. I put 600 ah in the same space as the agm,s.

L-16 is a design spec so within a quarter of an inch or so, they should be the same size.

I personally would do lithium as they are lighter weight and you will never replace them again. A friend put 2- 300 amp hour LiFeBlue Lithium batteries in his 2018 Aspire.

I have 4 - 300 amp hour LiFeBlue Lithium in my 2013 Classic Anthem and in 2 years I have only used 14 cycles. They are good for 5000 cycles before they degrade to 80% power

They charge faster, lighter and last a lifetime

Here is a phone number. Larry. (920) 543-3764
