House batteries need changing

On my 2019Anthem the house batteries need to be replaced. The coach was built in early 2018 so the batteries are 5yrs old. I do not want to have to reprogram the inverter/charger so thinking of going with the same batteries. Anyone have a good source for batteries to replace these with?
Thx
Gerard

You may want to stay with the same type (i.e., lead acid, AGM, Lithium) of battery if you want to avoid changing charging parameters. But then just buy the same battery technology and of the proper physical size and you need to change nothing.

And, far more important, virtually everyone feels that the Relion batteries are not quality batteries..... they are very weak. So stay away from that brand battery and find a good, well reviewed battery manufacturer and then stay with the same technology.

I replaced all 4 original Discover house batteries last month in a 2018 Cornerstone.Went with the same AGM 400Ah, Full River DC400-6 based on good results from other members. Best source was InverterRus, via Amazon, $637/ea + tax delivered. No issues with replacement work and batteries now working fine. Set to AGM2 profile as per Full River recomendation for Magnum. Followed Gary's steps recomendations to swap them.

5 years isn't a bad run for lead. If the capacity of the existing brand/size is sufficient, then you could repeat that formula and have a known performance expectation. One could spend more on "better" batteries but it wouldn't extend life or performance much more than what you're seeing. So unless you have identified a niche of operation a different brand/type of battery would solve, it would likely be hard to beat what you already have for the money.

As long as the replacement batteries are not Lithium, programming the chargers is very easy.
Later...

Based upon the recommendations from the forum and from another friend with the same coach as mine, I have ordered 4 Full River batteries from Amazon(best price and free shipping). Hope the change out will be uneventful.

Gerard,

Take pictures of how the batteries are hooked up.

Zip tie wires that go to a particular battery terminal together and label.

Be sure new batteries are orientated the same (+ and - terminals) as original.

The rest is EASY-- just manual labor.

Reach out to your selling dealer or any NIRVC service/parts department. We stock them and can ship them to your location if needed.

Wow.... I am really sorry. I read the original post as you wanting to replace your chassis batteries.... just didn't pay enough attention.

Now that I have paid attention to what you are replacing, here is a link to a thread that deals with this whole repair. Again, sorry for the initial off-topic post.

I'll add the link to in a couple of minutes. Here is a thread that deals many of the issues involved with changing, but I cannot find the thread that has the most information in it.... I just cant find it with the search function... Hmmmm. Here is the one I found. I'll keep looking for the other/better one.

If you are going to stay with standard lead acid (non AGM) you will get better performance out of 6V golf cart batteries. Better "bang for the buck" than those dual purpose marine/RV 12V batteries ! Available at Costco or Sam's Club.

Yes, wiring is different ! Worse they take up more room.

I checked Amazon, the FullRiver's are $849. Calling around I found them for $675 delivered and no core charge. L16 batteries are like the stock market, my link from 6 months ago, is worthless today, they trade on a daily availability. I found mine at an Interstate dealer in Chicago that got them from a supplier in Detroit that just got 500 in. A FL dealer was quoting me $779. dropped shipped from the same supplier in Detroit and padded a core charge in there.

A well respected forum member has regularly recommended BatteryGuys (https://batteryguys.com/collections/all) as a source for batteries.

They offer these two that would be suitable:

Fullriver DC400-6 Deep-Cycle AGM Battery - $749.99 (minimum of 2 required for free shipping)

Lifeline GPL-L16T - $869.99 (minimum of 2 required for free shipping)

Take care,
Stu

Recently, Lifelines have had extremely long delivery delays. Be sure to check availability!
