Doubled sided mounting tape. It will not come lose. So many other uses on the MH, I carry a roll in my tool box. https://www.homedepot.com/p/3M-Scotc...405976#overlay

Great idea. I just couldn’t bring myself to drill holes in the generator cover. The plate currently resides in the pocket behind the drivers seat. Hasn’t been a problem for the last 3 coaches but you never know.

I put mine in the windshield with suction cups. I know it’s not supposed to be legal but for the past 6 years I’ve never been stopped or questioned

My state requires it too but I still just carry it in the basement. Doubt it will ever be an issue.

My state requires a front license plate, too.

Most of the time we're in the coach, we're in other states. I presume the other states won't waste their time enforcing my state's requirement.

IF I ever do get hassled, I'll apologize profusely. If that doesn't work, I'll pay the fine.

I've thought about putting it in the windshield, but, I think that makes it pretty obvious to any observer that you're non-compliant with the requirement.

Take care,
Stu

A license plate is simply a tag to show that you paid taxes for that particular vehicle to be on the road. I think the police have their hands full, and I don't believe they care about the senior citizen and where they display their tax stamp.

I see people driving faster than I ever seen and they're not being pulled over. So if I get pulled over for a misplaced plate, I'll smile and offer the cop a fresh cup of coffee and accept the fine. I'd just be glad they felt safe pulling me over because I like cops.

I kept ours in the basement for years, and got away with it. Last year our state dropped the front license plate law, and I still have it in the basement.

I too did not want to drill holes in the glass. I was working on a bracket that would attach to the frame work behind the generator door and wrap around the bottom. Then it would come back up for the plates to bolt to, just was never happy with what I came up with.

FWIW--I bought a Corvette in Illinois a few years ago, and I remarked to the sales guy how ugly the license plate would be on the front. He said "Hardly anyone puts them on a Corvette--in Illinois, you can't be stopped for not having a front plate. Once you get stopped for something else, they can fine you then."

Whether it's true in Illinois or not--have no idea. Never put it on, never got caught, never got stopped.

If I was from a state that required front plates, I'd probably just take my chances with the fine. In reality we aren't in any one state that much anyway, and in any case, it's not being driven all the time like a passenger vehicle. Minimal exposure.

This thread has inspired me to remove my front tag. I expect to be nominated for the IRV “Boldness and Daring” award for this move. I live very dangerously.

It's been suggested that, "If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space."

Frankly, I cannot fathom why some states don't require plates front and rear - it must be a real PITA for law enforcement to just have a rear plate. Since living in Florida I only need the rear plate - my 1992 Honda had a place for a front plate so I put a HONDA plate there - my 2019 doesn't have a place to put a front plate because there are so many sensors in that location. Anyone else not need help deciding when to use the brakes? I shut all of that stuff off.
