How to tell a Modine radiator

From the many posts, many of us had a radiator replaced. And, according to posts, Spartan is now using a radiator made by Modine, as the older ones had a tendency to leak again. Some friends have a 15 CS and had a new radiator last year, I just had one installed 2 weeks ago. The radiators don’t look the same, giving credence that Spartan started using a new radiator in 2019.

So how can you tell if you have the newer Modine or the replacement was the older version? For reference, my new radiator has mounting bolts visible in the upper left corner behind the louvers, top one is threaded, second one down is nut and bolt. Is this a clue to which radiator it is?

2015 Model Radiator

This is how a 2015 model radiator for an ISL looks like. My unit was data plated on December 2014 so I would say that this is a 2014 radiator. The end tanks and mounting looks different than the Modine one.

Jim,

Just two different angles. Same radiator (not a Modine).

Some have had a radiator built from scratch by a radiator shop. They said it was cheaper and got a complete brass radiator.

One of the owners on here recently too his to a radiator shop and had it "repaired"... same radiator with a patch. Look for it... I would guess that it has been a thread on here in the past three months .... look through the last 3 or 4 pages of threads or do a search for it... Have no idea how that repair has held up or will held up.

A secondary issue... Spartan always used to send two radiators.... the actual Cummins radiator, and the charge air cooler. When both of my radiators were replaced on the Anthem, they replaced on the Cummins radiator.... not the charge air cooler. Don't know if they sell them separately now or if you still get the complete package.
