Question...one of the Suspension Control Screen Indicators is "MAX"-- When this indicator is in this position, the suspension

will be at it’s MAXIMUM height if an UP button is used OR

the suspension will be at it’s LOWEST point if a DOWN

button is used. How high above normal ride height is this MAX position?
Thanks,
Jim

There are three censors - one for the front and then one drivers side and one passenger in the back. To make the front act as one this rod was added. I still don’t quite get it- but hopefully will make more sense to me tomorrow. Click image for larger version

I don't know the exact answer, Jim. But, according to the manual, High or Low is one inch from normal (medium) ride height ... so, I'm assuming MAX is two inches (but I really don't know and it doesn't say). However, MAX can only be used under "the setting of the speed switch" ... which would be between 5 MPH and 15 MPH. Max is used for getting over humps so you don't scrape something ... or lowering to get into a garage that is a little too short. At least I think so

HWH got finished around noon on Friday. After the test drive, we did notice some issues .... and spent the next couple hours trying to resolve those. Actually, I think I may have figured it out ... but I'll post that if indeed, I have, I should know today after I get underway. Anyway, left HWH at 3:30 and drove 225 miles, had a terrible headache, so after checking into a campground, I ate a quick sandwich and went to bed.

Feel much better now and after some coffee, I think I will be good to go. Anyway, the drive part was good. Some initial observations:

The coach feels much more "stable".
There is much less play in the steering wheel.
Going around turns like off ramps, the coach seemed to hug the turn, verses trying to drift out of it.

Those are initial thoughts and feelings ... I'm going to do another 400 miles today, and I feel better, so I'll post again any additional observations.

BTW ... the little air compressor that is near the steps talked about here is ONLY for auto leveling the coach at a campsite. It is not to add air to the airbags underway and won't actually be running at all when you are traveling. The spartan air that has always been there for the bags and the brakes is what is used. So, that little air compressor won't be harmed by the elements much because it is not on and is not essential to the process.

Thought they advise to remain in the area for a few days in case problems developed. You must be confident in the installed system. Great! Looking forward to my install on October.

Update .... 450 miles 9 hours driving today. I am very pleased. I found myself driving with one hand a lot of the time, that would have never happened before, and probably shouldn't now, but I was quite comfortable and did it unconsciously.

Again, the coach feels more stable .... even on the straights. Much more so in the curves. The problems we were experiencing yesterday at the shop were due to my equalizer jacks ... not HWH. I will get that resolved in a week or two. Also the problems I was having with auto level was operator error ... and not the system. Today, no problems what so ever!

I would recommend folks stick around for a couple of days there that are getting it done, and the paperwork says that. I just couldn't because Dan has his next infusion on Monday, so I really needed to be back.

Now I'm excited!!!! Yes, it is worth it IMO. 350 miles to go tomorrow and I'll be back in NOLA.

Great report Lynn, sounds like it is working as advertised.

I'm sure Mitch told you about the customer that wanted the LCD control panel in a drawer so it wouldn't be a distraction. I found myself looking at it a lot while enjoying the ride, probably way too often. I now just leave it in the HOME page. No distraction at all

Safe travels, Brian

Lynn, great report on the entire installation. Thank you for sharing in such detail, I now have a much better understanding of the system. Best wishes for Dan with his recovery.

I can see that .... I've had it on the pressure page as well and do notice when it turns green ... I should put it on home as well and just let it do it's thing. Good advice. And yes, Mitch did tell me about them.

Many thanks Lynn for sharing your weeks story with us. It was very kind of you to provide both day by day details and pictures. You have managed to build excitement for my October visit to HWH and the post road experience. Safe travels on the last leg of your trip home.

Just curious but wonder if your installation will be less complicated/expensive since your Affinity already has HWH air leveling? Thinking some of the components are already there.....12V compressor, etc?

I too am with the thought I might save some time and money. This shared what I have learned thus far is the fee is fixed. I believe there are enough advantages in doing this upgrade to justify the expense. I have not read anywhere that an Active Air customer wished they had not done the upgrade.

It would be nice if HWH had a shop in the West for the upgrades.
