Do you think the dipstick has fallen to the bottom of the tank? And how do I get that stubborn cap off? Any help would be appreciated.

Having been there myself, yes, it is possible the dipstick has unscrewed and fallen off the cap and down into your reservoir. A screwy design! You should be able to back the seal cap off by continuing to slowly unscrew it, and once it is slightly loose, continue to pull a little, unscrew a little, until the cap comes off. If there is no dipstick attached, do not panic yet! Go to O Reilly's or Autozone, buy a small diameter "fishing" pencil magnet retrieval tool (helps if it is on a flexible wand), snake it down into the open top of the dipstick channel reservoir as far as you can, pull it out, and Viola'! The dipstick *should* come out attached to the end of the pencil magnet!
If it doesn't, dang! I can't help ya!
Good Luck!
